How to install valleys, ridge cap, pipe boots, pipe flashings. You need to check local building codes before doing your roof this way. Some states or counties require you to use 1 x 4's to strip the roof and some type of underlayment. Felt or synthetic. You may also choose to use some type of closures on the ridge and at the bottom of your roof. You may also want to tear your roof off. But the video shows you the basics on what you need to know about how to do a metal roof. I hope this video has been helpful to at least a few of you.

I wondered if I could place metal directly over shingles. I've been dealing with a leak for nearly 2 years. Had the roof repaired professionally and it still leaked. So hubby and I reshingled the leaking side last summer. Winter snow, freezing, and thaw caused another leak. We're talking about doing it right with a metal roof. You've answered a lot of questions. I think we'll do this this summer.

Been over a year. No leak. I have had the same phone number for 15 years. I would know by now if our stuff leaks. What is it with all these random know it all jack asses attacking my way of doing things. Put your neck out on the line with your phone number on it and see how you like it. I put this video on here so people can know how to measure their roof for panels. A lot of homeowners would rather do it themselves than deal with hacks like yourself.

I think this video series was brilliant! I watched a few 'pro' ones...all I got from them was ways to spend extra money! Loved it...I want you to know I appreciate it very much! The only issue, was safety. I know you guys have to make money...I get that....time is money. I am in South FL myself, and I have a client that wants a similar job completed. I was wondering, what is the going rate per sq.ft. for installing a roof over like this? I am an aluminum extrusion contractor but after watching a few videos of these installations, I think I can tackle this small job my client has, but I want to make sure I price it accordingly.

@boat6868 Depends on the quality of job you want to produce. You don't do it on an economy job. If the customer wants a superior job they'll go with standing seams at 3x the price!
