Thank you so much for showing all of these different people. Thank you to them! I'm the same size as the young girl and like the more fitted style too. I and short arms but they are larger around. I love watching your videos. I send them to other friends. Thank you. This fitting will help with many other projects even long fingerless mittens.

I'm so glad I found your youtube channel! I started knitting sweaters for the first time last year after only having dabbled in mufflers and hats which don't require too much measurement. So this video is very useful on how to take body measurements for my favorite type of sweater.

Thank you, Suzanne! This is what I’ve been looking for. I sew and when I started to want to make garments in knitting I needed to know how to make adjustments for fit but haven’t really found any instructions that really explained things well or even took measurements anywhere but bust into account. This video was perfect! I love that you took different body types into account as well. Bravo! Thank you to all of the models too!

Wonderful video! Thank you very much! Do you also please have any suggestion or videos , as to how to alter a knitting pattern so as to make the arms much slimmer please. The sleeves on garments as so wide for my thin arms. I have lost so much muscle due to almost a year of not being able to swim due to the present pandemic. Also at 72years of age it is probably unlikely to come back!

If you look for my ITAG tutorials, I do cover adjusting for sleeve size. I also teach these techniques through written tutorials that you can get on Ravelry. 🧶

Wonderful video. I need suggestions on how get my measurements in a wheelchair. I can only stand for 30-60 seconds at a time. Also, I have a colostomy right at my waistline on the right and hangs down about 8 inches. Should I put additional ease in that area? It can change the measurements by 0-4 inches depending how full it is at a given time. Any thoughts would be appreciated
@SuzanneBryan5 жыл бұрын
I would give yourself enough ease in the area of the colostomy to prevent any problems. Since you spend a lot of time in a wheelchair, try to get as many of your measurements while you are sitting. That way, the garment will look good while your are sitting, which is what you do mostly. The lengths, yes you will need to stand. Unless you cover your colostomy bag with your lower garment, you will need to make your sweater long enough to cover it. But if you cover it with your lower garment, it does not matter and you can make your sweater however long you want. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks, Suzanne. Any changes in technique measuring and fitting my body type? I'm a 2x plus size apple, with big bust and big belly in the stomach and below belt areas.

Just use this technique, it will work out. If you search for my other fitting videos, I think I show several plus size people.
