I have never before figured out how to make a good gauge swatch for working in the round. This is fantastic! Oh and we have the same little swatch measuring tool lol. I realize that I’m commenting on older videos and hope you don’t mind. I saw that you would be appearing on Little John’s yarn channel so I looked you up…and I’m very glad I did! You have some wonderful tutorials on here and great tips, even for long term crocheters. Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future!

Is it possible to make a flat gauge swatch, as if you were starting a hat?

The pattern should have a gauge and a pattern for the gauge, for example 10 sts in "sc, dc", and you could do a swatch in the round using that as the pattern for the rounds worked even, but the point of working the gauge swatch in the round is because the rest of the hat will be done with only the right side facing out as well, so that will affect your gauge.

I'm having a hard time getting the shape right for the tube, do you mind explaining the proper amount of increases per row?
@HookedbyKati Жыл бұрын
Sure! A "perfectly round" end will have 6 increases per round. That is the easiest to do for something like this. The pattern would look like this: Ch 2. Rnd 1: 6 sc in second ch from hook. (6) Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12) Rnd 3: [sc, inc] 6 times. (18) Rnd 4: [2 sc, inc] 6 times. (24)
