Great video! Currently figuring this out for all my glazes :)

This had been a huge help!! I thought my glaze was too thick but using your measurements I found I am at 1.42 specific gravity. I am going to mix 100 more grams of glaze and add more until I get to 1.45

There's a chance your glaze needs to be deflocculated if it's thick at 1.42

Enjoyed the video. Have been doing specific gravity checks of my glazes for some time. Like seeing what others do. I measure mine out to 100 ml and weigh that in grams, no dividing needed. But I like your method too since it doesn't require being spot on with the measurement to 100 ml. p.s. also enjoyed your voice/accent. :-)

Yes, I started out trying to get 100mL on the nose but it was too hard and messy pouring back and forth so now I just do the math. It's cleaner :)

That’s great. My biggest issue, however, is with knowing what sg to aim for … I havent been able to find guidance around it for beginners yet :(

If you’re using commercial glazes you can probably find it online or through the supplier. but for recipes you make you’ll have to test. Most dipping glazes do well around 1.40 - 1.70 usually.
