When walking meditation is just walking, don't thinking. Don't walk slowly.

Hello. I have a question regarding Buddho meditation. It seems that focusing on the breath, being mindful of it's effects in the body, feelings, consciousness, and dhamma, and also focusing on repeating Buddho is a lot of multitasking. When we repeat Buddho, are we meant to recollect the qualities of the Buddha or of enlightened beings, or is it simply a kind of skillful verbal formation for practice that we later drop? Thank you, mettā to you all!

You just repeat the word "Buddho" internally. You only think "Buddho, Buddho, Buddho, etc" but you do not speak it out. The body can rest and be relaxed in meditation, it only needs to sit or walk (walking meditation). Make sure your mind stays with the thought "Buddho" and when you realize that your mind was wandering to some other topic, you put your attention back on the "Buddho". Once your mind does not constantly wander away anymore and gets used to say with the thought "Buddho", you make sure that the "Buddho" is sharp so you can observe it in all its details every time it appears in you mind. Do this as much as possible. The more you do it the stronger your mind gets, which leads to calm, happiness and peace within yourself.

Forest Dhamma Talks thank you so much.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 do you mind explaining for me the buddho mean please. I appreciate you so much. I want to learn more about Buddhist and understand the words that we said. It’s a lot to me what you do this. Keep it up 👍 i May said a lot of words in Burmese language but I don’t understand Burmese. So seeing you speak English I am very happy and hoping I can learn through in English.

Buddho stands for the Lord Buddha, which means liberation from the round of birth and death, ultimate happiness. If you make "Buddho" your refuge, one day you will realize the ultimate happiness within yourself. If you prefer, you can as well take your breath (anapanasati) as your meditation object, which will lead to the same results.

Why do I have such a hard time concentrating in walking meditation but less difficulty in sitting. I feel like the movement of the body gets me wound up and restless but when my body is still, it's easier to also experience stillness in the mind. When I practice walking meditation I am often daydreaming. I have been trying to focus on the breath at the nose because it is most noticeable there when I walk.
