thank you so much for the amazing advice that save my life. I’ve just found that I am having an attachment disorder from one of my parents who neglected me even though I had overflowing love from another one. I felt so sorry for the one who loved me with a full heart as I realized that I still needed the affection and care from the neglecting one. They are gone now. I found a little child seeking love helplessly as I got to realize the childhood trauma sealed tightly for decades by my self defense mechanism. I tend to idealize a person as if they could fulfill my unmet needs from the one. I know this is a fantasy that my desperation has made. I would greatly appreciate if you could share a wise way to detach this fantasy and redirect attention to me to become a whole person.

I am really bad at this. I grew up in a family were the only emotion you saw was anger. So I'm having to relearn everything I should have known at 28

I needed my boyfriend to text me a nice text this morning (he didn’t) - so I texted myself a nice, loving goodmorning text. It works. If you give love to you no one can take it away from you.

This comment just inspired me. I was so needy w/ this girl I loved, and ended up subconsciously pushing her away completely. But this comment reminded me how easy it is to meet my own needs. The same things I wanted from her is so much easier to give myself. Thank you so much!
