Reducing part count by using a 1 part player character would likely help a lot, its less physics calculations and less overall welds to calculate on the server, reducing stress.

I'm very sure that the server crashes from the amount of packets it recieves instead, and not from the amount of physics it has to process since the roblox client calculates all the movements, welds and parts for the character, not the server.

@@Bonniethebunny the server doesn't need to keep track of the accessories at all, it just sends information to the client that "hey, these are the accessories this guy has, ok now go render that and don't bug me about it again" and then doesn't care at all about it again

@@SwitchyWitch_ it's still mesh that it needs to render. I have worked with 3D models before (over 4k hours working in SFM), and this was just in an animation program. When you load too many meshes, it starts lagging, and eventually crashes. Servers have to carry that load and distrubute it, and the more there is, the harder it has to work to render it all, plus the other game assets. Trying to load and distribute all the players, plus their accessories stresses the server and crashes it when it gets to be too much load.

The things like people dancing, moving, chatting, etc might have been causing the crashes due to more packets being sent to the server. If the game had 0 user interaction, it may have worked. Idk though, I don't run roblox

Something you can do is if you're the maker of the game you can disable the chat. Whenever the chat is used everybody has to register it on their client and if their internet is bad the server will crash due to the massive load from all the others too

I believe an easier way to do this is have a game where it takes off all your accessories, sets your character to r6, and doesn’t let you move type in text chat. That should be barebones enough to lighten the lag.

I have an idea that could work, get an empty baseplate, and make sure there are no scripts more than one (that being the player counter), this could optimize performance, getting more players. Also try to minimize the number of parts and instances within the game.

there is actually a way for the server to be able to handle everything a lot easier, everybody needs to wear a blocky avatar without any accessories and all in R6 this will lower the amount of parts and meshes inside of the game making it alot easier to render avatars
