Are you looking for a fast way to memorize information? Look no further than the easy to use memory method call the Similar Sound Technique. This strategy improves your ability to remember things in a precise order.
You can use this memory technique while reading a textbook chapter or to memorize a presentation. This memory technique can even be used for language learning and to remember numbers, dates and equations while you study for your exams.
Unlike the memory palace technique (which uses locations to remember information), the numeric peg system exercises you're brain's ability to remember visual information numerically. Each number in this memory technique is replaced by a visual. But you only need to remember the numbers 1 through 10 to get started easily.
Fast memorization is possible once you know how this technique affects your brain. The psychology behind this approach relies on the fact that the brain is more likely to remember visual information than abstract information. Numbers, words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs and chapters are all abstract, unless to make a conscious effort to visualize that information.
A fast way to memorize the information revolves around turning each number into a visual and linking that visual to the information you need memorized. If you need to memorize a lot of information for school (tests) or work (presentations) this technique makes it easy to retain and recall the information faster. It will ultimately help cut down your study time.
This video contains a memory exercise that you can easily follow along with. In fact, if you go along with this memorization exercise, you'll memorize some new information in the example very fast. You'll be able to quickly remember the list of 12 things in the exercise through the linking and assocative method provided through the Numeric Peg System.
You can even scale this system up to remember 100+ things if you needed to.
This quick video is presented by Paul Nowak, Founder & CEO of Iris Reading, the largest provider of speed-reading & memory and productivity courses.
