Last memory tips video of the year. One of the classic memory tips, similar to the Memory Palace technique, the Peg Method allows you to play off of lists you already know to memorize new ones!

You can use the "sun list" from Jim Kwik for this, it's based on an ascending number list, each number has an image attached to it, and the image correlates with the number. (I give you some examples so you can understand the basics and generate your own images): 1. Sun: first thing that comes out in the morning, 2. Socks: every body uses 2 socks right? 3. Traffic light: there are 3 colors in it 4. Car: 4 wheels 5. Star 6. Beer (six pack) 7. Rainbow 8. Octopus 9. Cat 10. Toes

I like it. I was wondering about something other than the alphabet for a list. It might give me ideas of some other list ideas.

Amazing as always. Would you actually use the peg method over the memory palace technique ? Or is this more of beginner friendly method?

Hi Nelson, just wanted to let you I think this "mini-series" of sorts is a brilliant idea. From my personal point of view, as someone who has just started to scrape the surface of memory techniques, these short and well-articulated videos are pure gold!! A possible suggestion, to have half of the screen running with an animated video? To incorporate 'visual' learning together with your audio? Either way, thanks for making these!!:)

Hey to everyone. Is there any another brain competition apart from memory that you guys know? Like for logic, critical, thinking, problem solving, etc?

Hi. Nelson. Just a heads up about the 2 digit pao system. I saw on memorise.org the number 36 was Michael Jackson which is different to your system because 36 is the initials C.S. I think that's the Ron White version of POA

That could be. Some people have different reasons for why their numbers are what they are.

Seems like a lot of work to first remember the words linked to the letters of the alphabet and then to also remember the items linked to those words.
@NelsonDellis
@NelsonDellis 6 жыл бұрын
I agree, it does seem that way. A lot of these techniques seem like more work than just simple rote memorization, but trust me it's not. Believe it or not, it's easier to remember something when you link it to something you already know (like instinctive associations you may have to the letters of the alphabet). Please try it, you'll see!

I am fairly sure peg, major system, and maybe even memory palace are only useful for lists in short term memory i don't think these are good methods for forming long term memories.
