This was incredibly helpful, thank you! Could you please help me with this? My solenoid resistances tested as follows: Torque converter lockup solenoid: 3.8 ohms (range is 2-4) 3 shift solenoids: all around 6.5 ohms (range is 2.5-6.5) 2 pressure regulating solenoids: around 7.8 ohms (range is 4-8) All resistances seem to be on the higher end, is this due to them wearing out over time, and would replacing them be a proactive step? In addition, all solenoids click when attached to 12V leads, however the click from the torque converter lockup solenoid was considerably quieter than the others. Is this a reason to swap it out?

I have a C55, Getting jerky/hesitation feeling, mostly between 1st and 2nd around 1900rpm. RPM needle also jiggles a bit when held at speed. Great vid, going to do the same

Which of the solenoids control the Drive 1 and Drive 2 shifting ability? I recently changed my transmission filter, gasket and conductor plate. However, I noticed when I attempted to shift the new oil through the gears, I could not shift into go to the lower Drive gears? Any idea?

Hello, I have a w204 c220 cdi with this transmission. It shifts fine, but when cold, as in winter time, I can feel the torque converter not disconnecting in time and bogging the engine when stopping. Also the engagement of the Torque converter is really hard, it jerks the whole car. Once warmed up it is okay. Could this fix my problems?

Is it important to leave the plastic protectors on the solenoids? Or must them be removed?

I changed the ATF on my W210 without changing the filter. I basically sucked it with an oil pump and refilled it (took me three rounds, one round every two weeks, with 3 liters each round. Now what is happening is, sometimes, when I stop at the red light as an example, the transmission doens't start at the first gear. Seems that it starts on 3rd or 4rth gear (not sure), and doens't shift at all. Also the reverse doesn't engage at all. But when I turn off the car and start it again, the transmission goes back to normal. Do you have any idea? many thanks.

I just did installed a new conductor plate and car won’t physically shift out of park? can some PLEASE explain how to connect the shifter rod to the pin when installing the valve body? I’m stumped , I have to drain all the fluid yet again and drop the pan again and drop down the valve body all over agian, why is It so damn hard to hook up that shifter rod thing ?

Totally at your own discretion but I run Wolfs Head Super Synthetic Universal ATF in my 722.6. Way more cost effective and 13 months now and never missed a beat shifting. I contacted them and they assured me it's completely safe for Mercedes ATF 134 here in the US. Dont know about Norway availability.

Thank you so much for info.Well..the question about the oils in the 722.6 is sooo discussed around forums and such..that you cannot really get any straight answers i think. Like you state...i have also read the same thing..that atf134 can be used with no ill harm...but i have also read the complete opposite..so i wanted to try to stick with the correct spec ,as long as i could get hold of it.ya know...Also..i think the potential issue you might have,,is not the shifting qualities(eventhough some of the experiences ive read is regarded to a negative shifting experience) i do think the biggest concern is excessive wear on the clutch packs etc by running the thinner oil.Im not sure..but..i am totally thankful for your input.Greetings from Norway ,Stefan

Bro, thanks but i have a question, i have CLS55 AMG, i have a hard shifting some time not always, on regular driving the car seems perfect, but when i down shift i hear pum, and when the car change i hear the same pum, no computer faults, the oil looks pretty reddish, what could be the problem? They do..basically.The shifter mechanism is different though.Also..i cannot verify if the parts i have used..fits in your transmission.That would need some diving into.

Hello My Friend. Hope you are doing well. Stefan i'm going now to order parts, to do the first oil change on my E430 Gearbox. It still runs with the Factory filled oil. As i know i will need, Proper Oil. Gearbox Filter, Pan Gasket, Automatic Transmission wiring connector and 6 new bolts for buttom pan. Can you advice do i need anything additional? Is it mandatory to change the oil drain plug and it o ring also? Greetings :)))

heyyyy my friend.My goodness..i havent seen the comments on here before :) Well..you really do not need the 6 bolts..but it is supercool to replace them though.I guess they are not very expensive..but these are not the Aluminium ones that NEEDS to be replaced. I never replace the drain plug..and and almost never replace the copper sealing ring neither.Sometimes i do..and sometimes i dont.But that has to do with me doing these things " more often than normal"...so..But if you can,i would definetly replace bolts and sealing rings if i was you :) I hope you are doing good my friend :) Greetings,Stefan

Heisann. Kjempe video! . Jeg har en c43 amg med 722.631. Fikk for en stund siden et problem med at den er låst i 1 gear 😪 får opp feilkode p0715 speed sensor. Bytta styreenheten uten hell. Kan disse solinoidene være problemet mitt da? ser på nett at de koster en formue. En ting som kanskje er verdt og nevne var at det var en del metall spon på magnet i bunnpannen. Er dette noe som kan tette ventil kanaler?

Det er vanskelig å si hva som er galt med girkassa di.Men hva mener du med styreenheten? mener du EL plata..inni kassen..eller mener du faktisk styreenheten til girkassa? Viss du mener EL plata innvendig i girkassa..så må du sjekke om ringhjulet inni kassa har subbet borti speed sensoren på EL plata..det viser jeg i denne videoen her...hva og hvordan du kan se det... Spon i girkasse er ikke problem viss det er " fint som " mel"..men viss det er " biter og spon flak osv"..så er det litt verre..samt en må vurdere fargen på sponet...samt hvor mye for å gjøre seg opp ett bildet om det er alvorlig eller ikke.

@@TheCarTakerGarage Ser på speedsensor at den har tatt borti litt. Vil det si at lageret er gåent? Har testet solinoidene. De virker helt fine. Ny conductor plate uten hell. Ledningene virker også fine. Vet ikke helt hva mer jeg skal lete etter 😪

@@mkonges ja,viss det er spor på speed sensor, så er lager defekt.du kan også prøve å trykke opp aksel inn i hullet der speed sensor måler på aksel,for å sjekke om du kan bevege aksel mye opp og ned.men somsagt,,,er det spor på sensor,,så er ikke det ett godt tegn.

My W204 220 CDI 170hp with 722.6 5 G tronic started to not working properly, it didnt want to shift properly and sometimes stuck on one gear, even the manual gearshifting didnt work properly, how ever, i bought a new conductorplate and oilfilter and oil, i replaced the parts and the worked great for some km´s, then starting to act weird again. After watching this video i realice that i should change the solenoids to, and i did not do the job i just mentioned i did correct at all, with that said, i messed up and that´s why my gearbox still not working properly and maybe also needs new solenoids, it has 290000km´s on it. I just put in all the oil before even starting the engine, but i did run through the gears when i filled up the 8 liters. Ohh boy, i messed up..

you can get shudder as if youre driving over railroads. It can happen around 40 miles per hours usually and in my case after changing transmission fluid it worked but eventually I had to replace the solenoid cause Torque converter was slipping. If you dont feel constant shudder usually it can happen when turning and accelerating like when you are passing someone

that depends on what you mean by " not shifting".....does it shift into reverse? does it run forward in first gear? or is nothing happening when trying any gears?Did you remember to connect the shift tab ,inside the gearbox? the one i pointed out in the video?

@@TheCarTakerGarage Thank you, you helped me fix the shuddering gear shifts on my 2005 CLK 180. I changed the conductor plate and TCC solenoid only (+ gear oil and filter)... I didnt bother with the shift solenoids to see if I could save money, didnt need to buy them in the end because..... Now my car drives as smooth as a brand new merc. So many thanks
