Mercedes used cheap speakers that didn't sound good. I removed mine and was able ro fir 5.25 coaxial speakers inplace of factory speakers. I used Cerwin vega speakers. They sound so much better. My factory stereo was in great condition but replaced it with a nice Blaupunkt stereo. Which sounds better plus has hands free phone and USB. Big improvement and looks like it belongs there

Hi, thx for sharing, great setup! I can definitely agree that Mercedes could used some better speakers from day one, they are "ok" but after 30+ years they just can't keep up the standard...

@@addictedtorust even the new mercedes speakers basically look the same except some I have seen use a plastic frame instead of stamped steel. I am well pleased with my Corwin vega upgrades and thet were under $40. Not the top line like kenwood or alpine but so much better than factory. But most cars use cheap speakers. You should see factory speakers for pt cruiser. You will die laughing or of shock of poor quality 🤣. cool video. Take care

Try musway me120 they sound much better and have same size, but you'll have to buy wiers separatly or use wiers from mb speakers. Also you could use Groun Zero speakers but their sound is flat. By the way I use same radio as you have in coupe)

Thanks for the tip, when next time one of them goes bad will do the update, as I am not expecting the one I changed to last long as it is from factory...

maybe they sound flat because factory radio cant power them? it probably needs an amp
