Good video. I use a stir rod with a plastic paddles from Warner's. It doesn't scrape plastic off the bottom of the pail (which my metal one did) and it's faster. I use it a lot for making creamed honey and you don't want plastic specks in that. It floats to the top and I had to pick them out with a tweezers. It sucked. The extra feed will give them a little more reserves and it is a great winter feed. Have a good day Darren.

That what I do before it get cold weather and if they need more later I put in pure sugar on top the top box.

Hi Rudolph. Yeah, I do the same. Next trip to WalMart for another 100lbs of sugar, I'll be filling up some sugar feeders. I also use shims and sugar blocks too. I kinda like that method better than filling a whole feeder. Thanks for watching.

Darren, the first time I saw you use the drill and mixing tool (a year or two ago) I went to the blue big box store and bought a mixing tool. It definitely makes mixing easier and does a much better job. I’ve learned different things from so many different KZbinrs. I don’t always remember who I learned what from but this trick I definitely give you the credit!

Hey Don. I had that one left over from a tile project I did years ago. It still has a little mortar on the bottom of it for extra minerals. lol It mixes like crazy. I also rigged up an old 14.4 drill I had with an 18-20V adapter and running a 20V lithium battery on it. It smells kinda hot, but it's still going. lol So now I have a dedicated mixer drill, at least til it burns up.

Darren - I've found that my narrow crown staple gun that I use for assembling hive boxes punches just the right sized holes into the bucket lids for feeding without much leakage.

Thanks for the info, this helps to measure out the water a little more efficiently, although I’ve usually just measured it instead of weighing it. I have the exact same mixer ( except mine is colored orange), but we don’t have a drill that it will fit into. Is there an adapter that would work? My bees are all tucked in for the upcoming Wisconsin winter. Good luck with your weather this year, I hope it’s a mild winter for you! 😊🐝

Hey PD. If it has the 3/4 hole with a pin in it, you need one of these: amzn.to/3Flmsfh I know, because I had to get one for a little auger my wife bought to plant bulbs with. If it's not that type of end, then it may just be too big for your drill. You have to have a 1/2" chuck drill and not a 3/8" chuck. If you have to get that adapter, I would just buy another mixer, it's about the same price. Yeah, we're hoping for a mild winter for a change. Thanks for watching and good luck to you too.

If you squeeze the bucket before you turn it over and release aftef turning over it eliminates most of the leakage.
