Since no one replied I got you. I’m by no means a master, so don’t take this as professional advice. Layering is a great option though, but equalizing those volumes is key. For example, I love to double or even sometimes triple layer my claps, so balancing them so there’s a lead clap, one that has some reverb or whatever, and riser clap are like very basic examples. Another thing I personally love is layering an open hihat with my snare, but very quietly. It just gives it that little extra pop, and mixing this with some sidechaining will really help your drums punch through. Another thing, tossing some slight distortion on those 808’s and lower the pitch of your kicks to make them hit heavier too. Fruity fast dist is a great one if you have FL. The main tip though, EXPERIMENT! I’m sure there is 1000’s of things we could do to make them hit heavier that we don’t know, and everyone has their own methods. These are just mine lol
