I'm digging the less is more vibe that you preach here Bobby. I used to make deep cuts that also resulted in crazy boosts to get any kind of life in my mixes but they were messy/ cloudy if that makes sense. I'm still figuring it all out in a 2 steps forward 1 step back but it's all progress and I love the Journey. Also my fans (Mom/GF/ Cat/ Dog) think my music sounds great so thats all that matters hahahaha. Not sure if you've done it but I'd love a video on mixing with programs such as EZ drummer as that's all I have access to until I buy a kit and play it for 10 years (which is actually the plan) hahaha

Great video. Is there a logo saturation plug-in you can recommend for us outside of protools?

I just had 1 track on overhead and room track, is that a problem ? Why I had 1 track each ? Because I used midi drum for my song

What mics do you recommend for each cymbal mic’d up??
@FrightboxRecording4 жыл бұрын
Hello Ben! I'm a huge fan of the Shure SM81's, although on this recording I used 4 cheapo Samson C02 pencil mics. In all honesty they sound just about the same as the Shure mics.

Speaking of saturation, can you recommend a saturation plugin for allround use?

I personally love Decapitator by Soundtoys.

I'm a huge fan of PSPs Vintage Warmer and the Cranesong Phoenix. These days I mainly use the stock saturator plugins in Pro Tools...I'm not picky.

I've been meaning to check that one out for 7 years now lol.
