@purplementhol33884 жыл бұрын
I watched many videos. It's better to use thin plastic or silicones. Just wait till it cured/dry, put like toothpicks or anything you use to stir your Resin. once it cured, squeeze it & take the toothpicks carefully, you can clean other sides around. If there's still small parts, you can use a tape, press it, and open it. It's also like that for molds, clean all things including molds with water & like soap, to clean the small things like glitter or dust or any powder.

I do resin on wood cradles and struggled w/ bubbles No matter what brand or how careful I was with stirring and pouring. And then I saw a video that talks about misting with rubbing alcohol. I use 70% in a fine mister and spray pretty much one pump about a foot above my piece and it works beautifully to pop the bubbles and not affect end results.
@nickfatsis96073 жыл бұрын
A bit of advice, don't use a wooden stirer, it's porous, it could introduce micro bubbles, use a non porous, wide stirer like plastic, you can also sit the mixed resin in a tub of warm water to lower the viscosity of the resin, most of the bubbles will float to the surface, you can then easily pop them with IPA or a small flame.

Hi, sorry to interrupt. Brands of Resin have different amounts of A & B. Mine is 2:1 for A:B. Her is 1:1. There's also 70% & 30%, 50-50, and many more. There should be instructions. Be careful to not too add too much of any of them or add less. I experimented once, and nothing saved. Also to choose Acrylic paint, be careful because mine is failed. The acrylic paint make my resin hardened too fast like in 3 minutes? And so hot, in just less than 1 minute, my resin became like a glue and very hot although I use toothpicks. I suggest Glitter, Mica Powder (or like eyeshadow powder for makeups), Alcohol Inks (just one dot or use toothpicks), usually people also just search "Resin Pigments", Chalk (scratch it into a powder with example razor blade). There are also good Nail Polish & Food Colouring that works for resin but not every brand/type. To mix any of the colourings, add small amount first till match your taste. Like for Mica Powder, I only add a very small amount and the colour already shown well. As for Inks & Acrylics, use toothpicks. To create Resin with Inks (like Coaster) it's so much fun & natural, but don't add to much Inks especially White unless you wanted to colour it with White.

Wood sticks cause microbubbles. After you mix some resin, let a wood stick sit in it for 5 minutes and watch all the bubbles that come out of it. Resin yellowing over time is not about how well it's mixed, but how it is treated for UV.

@MissKissKreations4 жыл бұрын
There is such thing as ruining epoxy. As for over mixing, yes, in a way. Once your epoxy is mixed correctly and evenly, that’s when it will start to cure or dry, you don’t want to mix your epoxy for 20 mins, you’ll then find it thickening up, making it harder to work with.

Try putting your temp higher in your house or use a small space heater. I know this helps me tremendously. Keep the space heater in while you’re epoxying the tumbler and while it is turning for 4-5 hours. This helps pop any bubbles and smooth the epoxy out

Epoxy gives off bad fumes and may irritate the skin while still wet and not cured. The Amazing clear cast that I use is FDA approved and there are many more out there that are as well. Please read more information regarding FDA specs before purchasing epoxy!
