Nice vid! Sigh, I need a new EC meter. I’ll use your link for it

Hell yes, I need this. Don't have time to watch right now, but definitely going to get out the notebook and sit down with this when I get home tonight. Thank you!

You bet, hope it helps! 🌱

You should sacrifice a magnet stir pellet to the Nova Mud Bottle, and just set it on the stirrer plate for like 5 minutes while you get prepped.

do you bottom feed your tray system? If so, how often and how much? when starting a new tray, do you start with full strength solution? how often to you recycle your grow media? how do you clean your grow trays and media? I've watched several of your videos but maybe time for an update on your tray system?

@@rgilroy1909 those videos are all coming! Some rough cut ones have already dropped for members. Wanted to cover nutrients first as it is the most important building block to all do the systems. 🌱

How long does it take to grow a tray of Java Moss, using your method.
@ejfishes7610Ай бұрын
Very informative Will. I’m focusing on the tray method at the moment (same trays and domes like you). So far I have Ludwigia Repens, Alternanthera Reineckii and I’m experimenting with crypts and swords…everything but the Ludwigia I have in rock wool and little pots (similar to how you’d see plants for sale at the fish stores). How do you grow your Alternanthera Reineckii? I’ve been using the 5ml per one gallon but I’m curious if you think certain varieties need less or more? I’m using that same nutrient solution. The Ludwigia is doing awesome and has really nice roots already growing into the solution.

I grow my AR almost exclusively in my large setup in the garage. The one with 4-5 inches of gravel and nutrients flowing through the gravel. It likes to spread which makes it a great option for that setup. I use an EC of ~1500 for it and a PH of 6.75-7.25. Ive found most plants to like that combination. But yes some definitely prefer different combinations. Floaters and moss like lower EC in my experience, typically slower growing plants do too. ~1500 is a good all around starting point for most species though in my experience. Rockwool in a tray setup should work. I would go with EC and PH as described above. 4-5 ml should work (see below though). Probably keep the vents open (gradually open them over a few days to prevent shock though). Measuring nutrients solely by volume can work, especially with trial and error, however, I would strongly advise using EC paired with volume as your method. Everyones water is different and your water alone will compose a portion of your EC "budget". By only measuring nutrient volume you may be significantly above or below what you think you are feeding. EC values that are too high or too low can have big impacts on growth rate and plant health. EC will also change as nutrients are eaten (or not) or as evaporation occurs. Without a way to measure it you will be a bit blind. It can work, I didn't measure EC for quite awhile but you might find yourself scratching your head more than you would like as you try to troubleshoot issues. Being able to measure it will take a lot of headache out of the equation. Ill see about making a more in depth video on EC and its importance.

What would be your recommended concentration for emersed anubias?
@AquariumPlantLab11 күн бұрын
I havent used this nutrient for anubias as I don't grow it anymore, however, I would start with the same concentration and see how they respond. Adjust up or down based on growth, algae, signs of nutrient burn, etc.
