Why don't you have more of the riverine "boxes"? It seems like they are way more efficient than the small humidity domes.

So awesome to see you making videos again! Quick question, and sorry if it was addressed in the video, but I didn't catch it if you did.... How of then do you drain/re-fill the river beds, if at all? About to tear down a rack and build one, but wanted a bit more specifics before I jumped the gun.

hey! I recently stumbled across you channel and have gone on a tear watching all of your videos + subbed to the membership. I even liked your dutch style planted tank so much I went out and did the exact same thing. With that being said, I was just wondering if you used a liquid fertilizer long term with the tank, and if you used a lid on it besides when you restarted it and had it shallow. I got a super cheap lid with my tank and didn't wanna shell out for a nice glass lid unless I absolutely had to. For now using plastic wrap, but this doesn't seem sustainable long term. Thanks!!

What happens if you use the hydroponic solution at full strength? My setup using master-blend (tomato formula at full strength) and a "2000 watt luminous efficiency" grow light that draws a mere 24 watts from my kilowatt device and get nothing. In fact I see a few of the pieces actually turned brown. The vast majority of the dark green and light green plant matter is still there but no new growth for 2 weeks. Excuse my math if its not correct but your using maxi-gro at 30% strength using the 1tsp per gallon recommendation thats on the packaging? I bought a 20watt 6500k strip light I may try using that instead. I would hate to find out its the 4 IR and/or 2 UV leds wrecking it =/ I had my grow light at 30" above the plants for the first week and then lowered it to maybe 12" for the second week thinking I was being over optimistic about the area it could cover but no change.

I think my Anubis plant is a god at this point. Everything else has either melted away, died. Been uprooted, or have deficiencies. But that one Anubis through thick and thin has turned into a unit and it’s about to grow its first flower :)

Its not red?
@AquariumPlantLab19 күн бұрын
@@lexluthor573 red color is influenced by a lot of factors. When commercially farmed plants have access to ample nitrogen (which tends to cause greens). In an aquarium nitrogen limitation tends to produce reds, along with co2, iron, and bright light. So plant this species in your aquarium and provide those things and you should see reds develop.

If I grow dwarf Anubias out of water, do they take on a different shape compared to their submerged version, correct? When I put them back in the water with this different shape, do the leaves die and get replaced? Is it really more efficient to grow them out of water to make them grow faster, even if my intended use is for an aquarium - which is underwater?
@AquariumPlantLab26 күн бұрын
@@mathhheus-vq2jt Anubias typically experiences very little melt if any. Industry standard is to grow most plants out of water vs under because it is far more efficient. Some melt can occur depending on species but yield is significantly higher under most situations.

if you can't find this particular nutrient take note of the three numbers on the bottle (7-9-5) that indicates the ratio of Nitrogen Phosphorus and Potassium (NPK) available in the mix. Try to find another hydroponic nutrient with a similar blend.

As mentioned previously I got some bins converted from dirt to this method and less than a week water wisteria is taking off and turning up towards the humidity dome! I had leftover maxigrow and did .5 TSP per 1 Gal to be conservative and 12 hrs of light with no algae! Ludwigia red skeleton is also doing well. I think now bumping up the temp in my lab to 74-76ish will probably help too, right now it fluxuates anywhere from 70-72F.
