you’re the best, thank you so much for this! i’d love to see a video about how to get inspired/where to start a pop song. your 10 steps to making a pop song video was great but it kind of assumes that you already knew where to start. i’ve played drums all my life so i’m a rhythmic person and kinda suck with melodies and chords. thank you!
@MakePopMusic
@MakePopMusic 4 жыл бұрын
For something like that, I would just practice guitar and piano and maybe take some lessons on playing and theory so you can come up with more melodic ideas off the top of your head. For me, I just hear something in my head and I've developed the knowledge of my tools to be able to just lay that out into a DAW.

Hey Austin! Great vid. Quick question, how come you don’t choose to buss your vocals to a buss and save CPU, and do additional EQ on their individual channels (considering the plugin chain is same across) ? Just wondering, incase you had a specific reason. Thanks again.
@MakePopMusic
@MakePopMusic 4 жыл бұрын
I’d rather have control over compression and dynamics of individual tracks. And normally I’ll keep the same chain, but I’ll still tweak parameters on the lead vs stacks and background vox. I’ll do a bus process if I’m doing something like a choir vocal or something though

hey MPM! I love your content, you are literally the most talented music teacher I've seen. Just wondering, do you know how to increase the speed of an audio file the more it goes along. So lets say you want it to start off normal speed, but the more along that file it gets faster and faster. apart from a manual method, where you use flex and put points and then drag the file and keep doing that the whole way. thanks
@kiliankraus
@kiliankraus 2 жыл бұрын
I know this comment is a year old now but... in cubase (and I assume other daws) you'll have a musical mode you can turn on. Then you can write in tempo changes into the tempo track, and your audio file and any midi should match the tempo changes

Hey Austin! Man you give the best tutorials. Thanks for making my sound more pro :) I have a question, when listening to your Left Harm and Right Harm I can clearly hear them on the left and the right speaker, I see you have them fully panned to L and to R in Cubase. When I try to do the same, my vocals still kind of end up in the middle. How do you separate them so clearly?

I love how they sound , are they all really just sung because it sounds like they have been tuned somehow but it sounds quite natural? also how do you the the vocals really tight - do you use any software e.g. vocallign, It sound so on point , I cant believe its not a duplicate - but ive tried duplicating and tuning and it doesnt sound the same. The FG 800 is the budget c800 model. The next cheapest is the Warm Audio 800 at $1000 USD, then the Golden Age 800 at $5000, then a real Song C800 at $10,000

@@nilssamuelsson467 Ohhh gotcha! 800 mics are known for their tight low mids, super bright top end, and having some saturation.
