How to Mod: How Slash Procs Actually Work (Warframe)

On the first How to Mod video I explained how slash procs work incorrectly. After a comment under the vid and more trial and error from me I can now properly explain how I was first of all: wrong, but more importantly how to increase the damage of your slash procs efficiently.
With that being said you have to remember that you always have a limited number of mods to work with and thus there is always testing needed to find what you want to get the most out of your gun. And this requires testing and comparisons. So don't be afraid to spend time perfecting your builds to achieve the best results and to roll the perfect outcome for your riven mods.

17:01 correct me if i'm wrong, but i have an old memory from the wiki that said tenet/kuva/etc weapons do calcutate their element as base damage, and by that contributing into slash procs i may not be 100% sure, but maybe 95% sure

You can equip extinguished dragon key if you're dealing too much damage, then multiply that damage by 4 since you're dealing 25% of what you're supposed to be doing. Not sure if thats the exact math for the dragon key though, you can look into it.

By elemental damage I believe they mean the actual mod for slash, impacting the weight nowadays since it got removed from the damage equation (nerfed because bleed is strong enough).

Thats physical damage. It only affects the chance you get for a slash proc, not the damage it will deal

Damn think I got a few builds to overhaul. What about forced elemental procs, will they only scale off of raw damage too? Or will mods with the respective element boost the forced procs further? I always thought that everything just boosts them, that's why I always just ran primed fever strike on my melees without thinking lol

Sorry for not answering I was testing it to make sure. The elemental damage procs scale off their respective elemental mod + the base damage + the bane mod So essentially when you are doing a heat build not only is it important to have the correct weighting but also to have as much heat damage as possible. Its additive for pressure point and slash procs yes but its still quite good especially for the shorter animation

Hey, saw your top 10 primary video and really like to give stahlta a try, I have a riven with good stats but with a negative slash stat, will that kill the weapon or does hunter munition makes up for it?

Stahlta has guaranteed impact proc on its secondary fire like the daikyu does on this video which makes it ideal to use with internal bleeding. -slash will matter for your primary but your secondary fire is not gonna be affected at all

Galv aptitude increases base damage so of course it works exactly the same as serration or heavy caliber. Except when its multiplicative and it breaks it even more

​@axx those do have high armor, but that is just it. I prefer manic bombard over those. But with how many stripping effects there is my go to test targets are murmur big guys with 5 mill hp, specters from titania quest (for acolyte testing prusposes), jugulus (damage reduction+viral status immune) And of course, the ultimate enemy - The Treasurer. Have yet to find a weapon to beat that one. Maybe you could make a video on best simu test targets. Some content to make for that for sure.

The Impact proc is guaranteed from the hit itself. -impact doesn't affect it

Damage weighting and base damage. There is a bigger chance to proc viral should you do a status proc with more weighting into viral damage, which will then boost the slash proc's damage by an extra multiplicative 100%
