How To MOD PvZ GW2 [2024 Guide]

For STEAM USERS: When using FrostyFix, make sure you select "Global" for your Plateform before clicking "Launch with Mods Enabled". Then open the game through steam like you would normally. However, make sure to click "Disable Mods" when you're done. This is because the launch arguments will stay permanently. Sometimes your game won't be detected by FrostyFix. To fix that problem, click the settings icon at the top right of the program, next click "Select" underneath "Custom Game:". This will allow you to select the games' file path. Afterwards, click on the box underneath "Select Game:", and choose your Custom Game. When all that is done, you should be able to select your Mod profile(s) created by your Mod Manager like normal.

FOR ANYONE WITH THIS PROBLEM: Scanning for the games and nothing showing up in the mod manager. You have to click "new" at the bottom right and go through your files and select the path for the game to add it. It will put it in the list and you can do everything else normal in the tutorial. Hope this helps

0:36, It works for all platforms for example if you use origin you select origin, if you use epic games use epicgames, if you use ea you select EA, if you select steam select global (Global will enable all the platforms to make it work with mods) EDIT: This also works with frosty editor too, just do the same and delete the cryptbase dll and enable the profile EDITOR in frosty fix so it works

hi i need help with my game, first off it doesnt even have cryptbase.dll when i launch it so the error never shows up, 2 whenever i try to launch it the anticheat finishes then it closes itself then goes back to ea desktop, 2.1 launching it (from steam) doesnt even work cause it crashes and when i try to verify integrity it does nothing, 2.2 (context) i launched the game once with mods with frosty mod manager and it worked, every time after that it would crash as said before. sorry for a wall of text, i've been trying to figure this out since yesterday and came up with nothing more than "keep launching it and it'll eventually work" so idk what to do. thank you drybone if you respond

in ea desktop there is no option for me to manage or uninstall the game, I'm assuming this is because I purchased it through steam. I will edit this comment to see if the first step causes any issues if I simply do it via steam UPDATE: the modmanager can find gw2 but only after running it once and allowing steam to "make changes to your device" to be sure I did force close the game immediately after this was done (probably)FINAL UPDATE: haven't yet tested it very thoroughly yet, but you can also just remove that one file via right clicking the game in your steam library and selecting properties to browse the files. but it does just work essentially the same

there are pack mods you can get like 1 million coins packs or the torchwood and hovergoat packs so the game thinks you got it legit cuz they're packs. Then you can use them in mp as well.

When I double click on the GW 2 it loads for a while and after that while window pops up and says: An unhandled exception has occurred. Only thing I can do is click OK and when I click it it closes the manager. Please help.

This worked but It broke my game after I wanted to play vanilla again I think. I removed my mods, reinstalled the game however it opens the game, I see the loading, then it closes the game. I am on steam. Is this a possible EA issue or is this a modding issue?

Hmm, is it the error that occurs once opening the game? If that’s the case, try removing crptbase.dll from the file location once more. On steam I don’t know the exact fix for this which might be an EA issue. I would revive a pc restart, game reinstall, and double checking you have the crypt base.dll file removed.

@@drybonez6402 hello I have fixed the issue. I am not 100% sure what I did to fix it. But I repeated your steps a bunch of times and maybe I did something different. Thanks for the quick response

I scanned for games and it didn't work (I already uninstalled it and reinstalled it) (I'm using the steam version btw)

Locate the game manually by pressing "New" bottom right in forsty mod manager

ok so I get an error that says symbotic links cannot be made? then it dosn't let me launch any mods
