FYI, Terrain Patcher has now been updated to v1.1.0. ATM, this will cause save game files to freeze during loading. It is because the new version is not compatible with the current version of Terrain Extender. Make sure to download the old v.1.0.2 used in the video if you run into that problem.

I just discovered the mods for Sub. I didn't know it existed although I have been playing numerous times. I came across that by accident lol Your guide is perfect. Simple, clear and educational. For me: the black box screen never appeared/loaded. When running the game after the "Terrain Patcher" my loading screen froze as someone as in the comments. You simply have to choose. Qmods was the old method for legacy version so thats why many mods are slowly being updated

So if you had qmods installed previously from legacy version be sure to delete that. If you're 100% sure that you installed everything right, then you might wanna consider deleting and redownloading the mods in case the download got corrupted. Delete and reinstall subnautica. And make sure that no strict anti-virus programs are interfering.

Been a while since I played and wanted to give the new procedure a try. Great video on how to. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of bugs with the new procedure with BepInEx and Nautilus (replacing SML Helper), or modders that claim they updated accordingly to 2.0 are doing something wrong. When starting the game the loader does not detect any errors but when you start to play and start using the mods you start to get errors, if you don't realize it and save your game ... eventually it will crash.

@@leviathankraken Had about 39 but now using 29 Mods ... which includes the main one you used for the base. Came across one modder that has many mods (the 10 mods I won't mention the name) causing all sorts of errors when loading and that does not even start the game. Another issue is the CMD is used to tell us what's being loaded and it is not very accurate as to what causing the errors. After removing the 10 bad mods or from the start it seems to work ok but it appears I'm now getting issues with Terraforming_v144 & TrueBaseColorizer v1.8. They don't seem to cause a problem in the beginning but once you use them over and over eventually something breaks and if you don't see it and save the game I think the save files become corrupt ... *What mods are you using?* Man, I can do without TrueBaseColorizer mod but I really like the Terraforming mod. Made an awesome base with it ...

You should join the subnautica modding Discord and let some of the modders know about the issues you run into. Cause I test them out but unless it's a playthrough I don't test them long term. They are looking for testers anyways to find bugs

Well, I followed this exactly and it worked! At least, for the mods you did in the video. The Silence and the Mantis Class sub are both working! :) The only other mod I've tried was Seaglide Upgrades, which I couldn't get working which is what inspired me to watch your video. Still not working, despite having all requirements and everything being in the correct folder. Dunno what I'm doing wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I do save my Steam games to a secondary HDD, while my OS and the Steam install itself is on my main SSD. Dunno if that's messing things up or not? Whatever the reason, I've never had any success modding Subnautica, even using the Vortex manager, until now :)

Ramune the modder has made it so that you need "Ramunes Workbench" to run seaglide upgrades. You will need to build the workbench with your habitat builder and it is what will upgrade the seaglide

Hi, you tried helping me on your older video, I missed that this was the newer video. I am stuck again. All I want is SubmersedVR to work in Subnautica 2.0, legally purchased and own steam edition. I started this whole process with a fresh subnautica install. Appreciate this is a broad overview but for me I'm skipping all the core libraries beyond nautilus because I don't want any of those mods (subs, creatures, terrain, etc.) and I'm skipping config manager because it's optional...doing K.I.S.S. here. You say BepInEx doesn't do terminal window anymore but it made the plugins folder on game restart, and after putting in Nautilus I have the Mods menu under game options too. Check, check it seems. Copy in SubmersedVR 0.1.6, load the game in SteamVR mode and...no SubmersedVR. Been working on this for so many hours now and I'm not getting where I want to go, really hoping for some help.

FIXED! The problem is I just needed to put "-vrmode openvr" in Subnautica's steam launch options under game properties. I also removed Nautilus, which probably wasn't the problem, but it isn't needed. It's so simple: just BepInEx pack for Subnautica, run the game once to generate plugins folder, put SubmersedVR stuff in the Subnautica folder, put that "-vrmode openvr" line (without the quote marks) into steam properties for Subnautica, and I'm in! FINALLY!

I don't have a Subnautica folder in C:program files x86\steam\steamapps\common\subnautica since I have the game installed on D: So instead I extracted the TobeysBepInEx files to D:steamlibrary\steamapps\common\subnautica but when I hit F5 in-game, nothing happens. I also tried Shift-f5, ctrl-F5, & Fn-F5 and still nothing...? However, I did get the DOS window pop up when launching the game so it seems to have somewhat worked. EDIT: Nevermind. I had a macro set to my F5 key so that it functioned as a different key. Turned that off and now it pops up as expected!

I followed this guide, all looks good until when i try to load my game save it's stuck at 70% loading with "engine efficiency now 300%" ontop of the loading screen. :(

@ryanlaune5599 commented about V1.0.2 Terrain patcher instead of the recently updated v1.1.0 and making this change to the older version fixed my problem incase anyone else finds this comment and have the same issue.

Is it possible to be able to modify a recipe of a modded item, if yes then how do i do it ?

There is a mod called custom craft on nexus mods but I've never personally used it. Supposedly you can make your own items with it

when i downloaded vehicleframe work it just opened straight to "vehicleframework" it didnt go plugin>vehicleframework like the nautalis mod was so do i still put it in plugins?

Yes the vehicle framework folder goes into the bepjnex/plugins folder

hiya, I'm trying to install the decoration mod but it doesn't seem to want to work I've downloaded the og decorations mod and the unofficial version as said to do in the blog post but it still doesn't seem to work . would really appreciate the help.

Is it this one? www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/102 So if you installed the unofficial patch correctly, www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/1522 (replaced the .DLL file) then according to the mods description it adds another fabricator. Check your habitat builder tool for another alternative fabricator to build. It could also be hidden in the original fabricator menu. Often this happens to me where I think a mod isn't working but where you build it is hard to find at first

I followed every one of these steps and now everytime I try to load my save I just get stuck on the loading screen at like 60 or 80% loading

Delete terrain patcher and install an older version of it. Its a mod conflict

Its because you put the latest terrain patcher mod on there its a mod conflict install an older version of it
