Never gave it much thought, but never would have realized those things are so empty. Kind of makes me want to make mini ssd‘s of mine. One could fit two on one sled if the cables reach. What would make a good Halloween vid, would be running a ssd through the motosaw, seemingly cutting it in half and then showing it still works. Like a magic trick...tadaa ^^

Nice job. My SSD is also illuminated, but without huge hard mods to the case. It is just a LED strip around the SSD's case and it will glow up whenever data is transferred. It is super cool!

We refurb PSU's all the time that are worth it. Generally speaking if your PSU has no weight to it then its crap. If it has a good weight for it's size then it is probably good to go. Most common problem that happens in the PSU is one of the capacitors blows. You might even here a pop and see a puff of smoke. Some of the PSU even good name brand have the cheapest possible capacitors in there. So you replace them with quality ones from reputable manufacturers. And your good to go. You might never noticed this if your computer is always running. When most people notice is when they move or go on vacation and turn everything off. The capacitors drain fully and next time they power on they pop. 1st question I ask when someones says my psu died. Did you recently move. 75% of the time they say yes how did you know. Changing the fan to RGB is no big deal and neither is disassembly or painting. RGB fans can have 6 cables. 2 will power the fan. They replace the 2 wires from the existing fan. Then the next 4 wires will be RGB and Power for the leds. You can push through a whole in the PSU if its semi modular or you will have to cut open a spot for the RGB wires to tie into the rest of the RGB wires in your case so you can hook them up to 1 controller card or one motherboard header. That way all your RGB is using the same lighting scheme. Biggest No No's for PSU's. Never change any of the modular cables with other cables unless buying new cables directly for your model number. As the cables are keyed the same way on the computer end BUT on the psu end they aren't standard and can be keyed any way they want. You will destroy all your computer parts. Doing this. Science Studio blew his rig up on a youtube video when he grabbed the wrong modular cable. Never change any pin configuration on the PSU end. Leave those babies alone. Its not worth it. I've seen people mod non modular psu's into modular psu but its just not worth the time and effort. Some people just like the challenge and to say they accomplished it.

The acrylic T-Force uses is ''040''.Use 040 to diffuse leds and get proper diffused light. More easy method is to use a backplate for ssd
@morphes
@morphes 6 жыл бұрын
Good job! Thanks for taking the tforce apart so we can see whats inside! Makes me want to get one and gut it lol. Only a suggestion, but you could also use a cd case for the window, its not as fancy but it certainly works and is abundant. Also you can sand plexi to get the frosted finish if you prefer, they also make a spray paint that has the same effect.

Goddamn! That is the next plan for my never ending / ever evolving case! Question : I am a complete dummy when it comes to that magical thing called electricity, I get by modding my stuff by copy pasting what more expert people do, while using a bit of common sense, I'd like to get more into it tho, could you do an in depth video on lighting fans, case and as we see in this video, basically everything? how to work with rgb strips, rgb vs argb, headers, jerry rigging stuff...you know a modder's point of view on all that is pc lighting and how to condense it all and wire manage it.

even better get a broken LCD screen (tv or monitor) and disassemble the backlight panel for the individual layer foils like diffusers and the layers that reflect the light forward. If you find one with led backlighting (fairly common) you will probably also get a foil with special side led diffuser dots. You can cut those foils down to make your own sideled backlight.

awesome as usual...how's about reducing the size of the SSD as now that you have pointed out how much spare space there is in these things surely there is a way to shrink them down in size
@Qalibrated

My best guess is that case manufactorers would have to adapt to a new mounting standard to replace the 2.5" mounting we got now. Both SSD manufactorers and case manufactorers would have to make a lot of changes and it will probably be a slightly difficult and/or expensive transition. Just a guess though :) I like your idea for smaller SSD enclosures though, would be very useful for taking advantage of the mounting space you got, especially in SFF cases

Acrylic way too thick. Way too much glue. No need for the white paper, just "frost" the acrylic. A nice way to keep everything inside would be picking the power supply directly from the board, but you'll need a 5V led strip - And maybe no rgb option...

Or, like he said, use double sided tape (I'd go velcro) and you can line the entire back side of the motherboard tray with them. Layer them like bricks to make cable management easier.
