Hello this is great.i have a question though, which combination did you use to create the 3d cutting layer?

let me try to explain.....the slab that is converted into a morph in the tutorial and then subtraction through solid element subtraction is linked to a 3d cut layer. I have tried making a similar layer but hasn't worked so am wondering how to create one so that when I execute the subtraction I can get a similar pergola as in the tutorial

HI Caasi, the 3D cutting element layer is a normal layer as all others. There are 3 reasons it might not work for you . 1. Layer combinations can be different in 2D + 3D so please check this first. The best check is to have a 3D view with all layers on, then turn off the 3D cutting element layer which has the cutting elements on it. See if it works 2. In my tutorial the 3D cutting element layer has a number 2 in front. This is because sometimes ARCHICAD seems to not like it when certain model elements intersect and it will show them wrong in 3D, or not at all. This is what that number in front of the layers is for ( any number as long as they are different ). Make sure the pergola layer has a different number in front of the layer then the 3D cutting element layer. 3. Then there is the possibility SEO did not work. You can check if it worked, after the SEO change to wireframe view still with cutting element layer on, then you will see if the pergola has been cut. Let me know if you can get it working now. Cheers Carsten
