I reupholstered my 76 Nova seats, without the help of DIY videos. I removed the seat covers down to the springs. I spray painted the springs too. I used the old upholstery as a pattern and cut it apart at the seams. Then I made paper patterns and cut all new fabrics. I used brushed suede. I sewed it all together, used new burlap over the springs and new foam( the old foam was deteriorating and had an ant nest). It turned out beautiful.

That is cool, its a lot of work and each small piece of the puzzle you can see why it adds up to years of work to restore a car.

Thanks a lot, yes much respect for guys that do full interiors. I have also had to learn the hard way on some of the interior stuff.

Rick this is awesome work, the seat looks great. Pretty simple how you made it all work, almost makes me wish I mini tubbed the Nova but I am sticking factory. Despite that I watched this video and it's pretty cool. Learned a lot and I know a lot of people can get help from this... or down the line I may do this if I ever build another car. THanks for the videos great work that car is really coming along.

Max, I think you should be able to get a good healthy tire under your Nova. If you change your mind down the road I have tubbed your model year Nova with the quarters on a car and it wasn't too bad of a job.

Nice job Rick! I've never had a tubbed car but this certainly adds to the " step by step" should I ever want to do one! You're so talented. 👍

i never thought about having to modify the rear seat if you put mini tubs on your car
@carthageclassiccars

Yes most of the ones I have done for the different models usually you always have to modify them. I honestly think some of these companies fail to mention that because it might turn people away from their kits knowing its just another thing that has to be done.

Thanks for the video. Is there any modification to the side panels or door cards that would have to be made? Thanks again. Keep the videos coming.👍👍👍

So I have never installed the side panels or interior in one with mini tubs, usually I pass them along when finished. Maybe someone watching this video can confirm through experience however I don't think there should not be any other modification needed besides the seat as it does not change anything on the outer wheel house and the diameter of the arch on the inner wheelhouse where everything else should be.

I was wondering the same thing. The tubs and the seats look great. But on the Cudas, which is what I have, the portion of the molded plastic rear side panels may or may not have enough "reach" to them to still slip under the edge of the rear seat as modified. If the stock panels don't have enough "reach," there will be some area where the metal wheel house is exposed, between the edge of the plastic panels and the edge of the seat. Hopefully someone can help us all learn if this is a non-issue, or if there is a solution to make it a non-issue. @@carthageclassiccars

I will try and see if I can get a panel in this car as I do have a set in a couple weeks and hopefully update on what the outcome was

Im at this same point on my 70 Challenger and am scratching my head as to what to do about the two side panels because they are now about 2 inches short due to the mini tub install. Any help here would be so helpful. Thanks for the great video. Its exactly what I needed. @@carthageclassiccars

@@Chickmonk3 Can you move the lower tabs further out towards the seat for the bottom of the kick panels? I haven't hit that point in this car to figure it out but wouldn't think the top would be that off since the top of the seat in this video kept the same distance/
