This is great, thanks - I just got my first TT02 after being out of the RC game for like 25 years, so I'm amped to get back into it. The kit is great, but I was getting so annoyed by the ride height on the rear suspension. I knew it was that little piece of plastic, but I never thought to cut it off, haha. Thanks for giving me the courage, haha. Regarding the dogbones rubbing due to the extended suspension travel, I found that the super mini dampers with the 'normal' bottom are actually the perfect length to keep just enough space between the cup and the dogbone shaft.

Now that's a TTO2 that I could actually enjoy mate! Some very ingenious solutions there Mark, it certainly seems to work very well, and would certainly open up the possibilities of being able to run the car on a more varied selection of terrains. Those cva's are so much better than the stock pogo sticks to. I'm loving all the different colours, gives the whole chassis a real upmarket look. Can't wait to see where you go with the body shell, a great winter project for sure. What a great guy Peter Smith is, so generous. We are hoping to hook up with him very soon..... Yes mate, Peter wants to come down and meet us...... and is planning on bringing some of his CWO1 creations to show us! I would love to see some of his weird and wonderful locked diff custom jobs flying around the track! And yeah, it would definitely have to be filmed in view of a GREEN HAWKS /CWO1 CREATIONS collaboration video or two!! Tamiya 53619 is a set of 4 Mini CVA shocks for about $25. The catch is you don’t get any springs, but you should be able to find several options for less than you’d spend on two full sets of Mini CVAs.

So kind of you, Mark, to make this video specifically for my upcoming TT-02 rally project, ha ha! Okay, I know it isn't specifically minded for me, but it could have! I remamber I already watched one video from you with almost same content, but this one is better, clearer! I think one very fortunate thing is the colour coding of the parts, makes it so easy to see what is what... I found that when I built my TT-02 (which is no completely disassembled, by the way), it was difficult to distinguish the individual parts because it was just all black... Very nice tutorial, a real proper Mark Bryan video! Looking forward to see some more, especially of course what colours that body gets, Subaru blue or maybe some black-red-white to match the chassis?

You're very welcome, Mads! Of course I made this video just for you, mate! You are correct, I have made a video about TT02 rally mods but that was more generalised, I thought it might be a good idea to do a more concise video focusing on the suspension, I'm glad you approve! I also like the way the coloured parts make it easier to make out what's going on. So cool to have a change from just black. Hi Paul, yeah it's very hit and miss, just 1mm too much travel and the steering locks up. That's why on this one I drilled that new hole on the bottom arms to mount the bottom of the shock. This one works perfect now! You also need those spacers between the steering knuckle and the tie rods.

After that i can say my version of going TT02 onroad to offroad rally has some of the same mods but i gained some extra clearance with some other things i chose to do.. So this is what I did . First thing was to get TT02B front damper stays for the front and back.. had to trim off the buggy bits to have them flat up against the original TT 02 damper stays to screw them in place... Then the shocks were changed from onroad to xtraspeed cc01 shocks for the front and back.. There was a need to remove some of the back end off the foam bumper.. Two reasons.. the shocks needed a little extra space and the rally block tyres/rims I chose ((70 mm plus diameter ) to get just a bit more clearance rubbed on the foam so a trimming i went . The rear of the car has about 27mm clearance and the front is lower as i placed that spacer on the bottom of the lower arm. I then obtained the dust cover (the TT 02 tracked landfreeder) had to keep out the dust and stones.. I did this on an older TT 02 car I had where the Ferrari 458 Challenge body sits on it.. i had a few cracks in the front of the body so i put a strip of rubber across it with double sided tape as well as some pop rivets at each end to keep it in place... .. I also bought just a TT 02 chassis kit and did the same stuff again.. it has a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X body on it.. its also been through a bit . Cracks etc.. needs to be replaced at some point.. I did those and thought that soothed the rally car need then bought the XV02 pro.. 😳
@MarkBryanRC Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you built yourself a pretty radical TT02! I like your ingenuity! Some great ideas there for anyone reading this thread! Yes, the bodies do get a lot of abuse but it's great to be able to patch 'em up and keep on going! And after all that you still went for a XV02! Cool!!! 😎👊👍
