Great It makes sense now. After figuring it out and playing with it I think I should mention you need to hold back at the end of the semi circle motion to maximize the effect, I was just letting go of the stick after the end of the motion. Great vid

Yeah I thought I mentioned that but my bad if I didn't. Also as a redditor mentioned on the reddit thread, you don't necessarily have to hold all the way in a direction, but rather you can hold a bit lower than that and still get the dash out for an optimal moonwalk. also thanks for the compliment!
