@alexposition Yes you could use the suction cup mount. I have used it several time to get shot from the back and sides of the boat. However for the shots facing back I do not want to have to worry about it coming off. I have found that the suction cup mount is great for shouting out of the water however it is not so good at holding on when it get hit by a wave, I have had it ripped off the side of my boat several times the other problem you can’t mount it to the deck because of the nonskid.

Yes I do know what you are thinking of. I have thought about doing that but as of right now I have no thoughts on how to do it. I will work on it and get back to you.

@Gabriel6117 My worry with the surf mount is that because of the uneven nonskid at the bow it would not stick that well. As with any mount over water make sure that you tie your camera on. If you don’t know how to do this look up my video "Must See GoPro Tips & Tricks: Adding A Securing Loop". Hope this helps -Kyle

@Gabriel6117 I would think that you could use the surf mount however I cannot say that I have seen it done. The only other way that I have seen a GoPro mounted is using a flat adhesive mount just behind the bow eye. This works because there is a line up the middle of the boat the is flat and free of nonskid.

very good idea... I use the c suction mount on the boat and tie with a string to the pole, not bad... it didn't fall off yet
@mattssurfin12 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I sail laser too, and was wondering if you'd had any ideas of mounting the gopro off the stern using the pole. was thinking it would make for some sick boat handling and downwind videos.
@kylemartin10111 жыл бұрын
It could work on a surf board however I think it would be better to use the surf board mounts.
@kylemartin10113 жыл бұрын
@kevinOlip Sounds like a challenge. I have some questions for you that will help me get a better idea of what you are looking for The way that I am thinking of doing it I think will use a tripod mount. Would that be OK? I take it that you are looking for something more that sticking on one of the surf mounts? Is it OK to put a hole in boogie board? And anything else that might help me get a better idea of what you need. -Kyle

@kevinOlip I should also say that I have had success mounting my GoPro on a skim board using a suction cup mount. A bit unrelated but something to think about. -Kyle

hello I wanted to know what is the best way to mount a go pro on the stern of the laser
@andhess113 жыл бұрын
this is great! i plan on doing this to my boat in time for the summer. it looks like you have a custom leash as a backup.. how did you make that?
@deemadude12 жыл бұрын
what you can do is tie a pole sticking out the back off the boom then using the handel bar mount attach it to the pole it wouks fine and gives nice stern footage of up wind and when going down wind gets a nice shot of the side, i find that it works well and that you are almost always focused in the picture

would the suction cup mount work or when I capsize will it fall off?

Hey do you think you can do a new video of more spots to mount and how to a laser please
@OneEagerBeaver13 жыл бұрын
@kylemartn101 when the suction cup mount gets ripped off, does it damage the actual suction cup or the boat? Also would the suction cup be adequate for sailing a laser on a small lake with little to medium wind (no waves?)
@RastaMon212112 жыл бұрын
how do you get the bungee through the bow eye?
@CVen9612 жыл бұрын
Hey i used this method the other day on my laser, it worked brilliantly thanks for the tips.
@kylemartin10112 жыл бұрын
I do not tie my buggy to the bow eye, I tie it to the blocks at the bottom of the mast.

Would a sucking cup work as well on a suf board? Or do they normally fall?
@kylemartin10113 жыл бұрын
@kylemartn101 that link will not work. just search for "Must See GoPro Tips & Tricks: Adding A Securing Loop" or look for it on my channel
@kylemartin10113 жыл бұрын
@OneEagerBeaver There would be no problem mounting with the suction cup mount. And if it comes off there is no damage done. I would add a loop to your camera and tie it on see my other video find it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnWaZmWrpcZrlZI
