How to mount a scope by Tomcat Airguns

Good job explaining how to mount a scope properly! I used my vertical fencing, which had already been verified as being perfectly vertical, as my adjustment point 44 yards away. A commercial rifle rest and bungee cords assured no movement while making the few adjustments needed. A very good instructional video!

Thanks Charles, I have actually gone away from using the string method. Now, I have a horizontal line that I drew on my backstop using a 2' level. I find it a little easier to use for leveling and I also keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

I recommend using blue thread locker for the scope ring and rail screws. Without it they will come loose over time, eventually.

Is that High Rise Scope mounts you are using?? -- i have Medium mounts on my FX, and i dam near have to lay my Head full horizontal to get a clear view thru the scope -- got some High Rise UTG's on order... nice informative video.. :)

I think they were mediums on the Impact. I can't be sure. If you compare the opening below the scope to what you see online, you should be able to match them up. Thanks for watching!

Tominco the problem now you got is that your line of sight never crosses the pellet trajectory. ;-) because the scope is so high and the gun is not looking down. are you going to extreme adjust the elevation turret as next? lol

Well, this vid is strictly about how to mount a scope. Major turret adjustments can be used for aiming or, swapping out for adjustable scope mounts would be another option. I was able to adjust the turrets but eventually moved on to FX no-limit scope mounts which allowed me to keep the scope very close to its "optical zero."
