Funny you should mention it - I have a video I'm recording this week that shows a TV mount that doesn't go into the stud but directly into the drywall and supports just about any sized TV. Do a quick search for "No Stud TV Hanger". Bear in mind that this only applies to drywall, if it's something else then it may not work.

Marcos Torres I had a stud finder and because I mounted TV on a corner wall, I only hit one stud ...for the screws where I did not hit a stud, I used those butterfly toggle bolts...my TV is a 42” and probably will not be moved around a whole lot, so I think it should be fine...sometimes you can knock on the wall with your knuckles to find studs....when you knock along the wall and it sounds hollow=no stud...keep slowly knocking until you sense density and that is a stud...all the best with your install!!

@mr_scolopendra89025 жыл бұрын
As long as you're in the studs and didn't over tighten your lugs with your impact drill then you'll be fine. You can tell if you've stripped the hole if it is loosely spinning and you can't feel any resistance.

I don't have a video on that, mostly because I haven't had the opportunity but that's something I'd love to look into as metal studs are becoming more and more popular. Thanks for the suggestion!
@omeganappie2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm sure my comment is 5 months too late, but I work in commercial construction and deal with metal studs all the time. What you'll want is long self-tapper screws (about 2 inches to go through the sheetrock and the metal) and an impact drill with a Phillips bit. While it's possible with a normal drill, it can be a little more frustrating. Hope this helps!
