I know! That dog has made it so difficult for me to film. I’m thinking that I may have to hold off on filming and only film when the dog is not barking. So I may be uploading less. I tried to give you guys more videos since it’s been requested many times, but with my business and busy schedule, I may just have to only film orchid fairs and nurseries. It sad but it’s is what it is. Neighbors sometimes just don’t realize they live amongst other people.

Hi Nelson! Thank you for another informative AND entertaining episode ☺️ The Phal was my favorite but then at the end when you showed the wall, well, just beautiful arranging. Can you call animal control on your bad neighbors? It can be anonymous. Such a sorrowful bark, and all day? 🙏

Hi Kelly! Glad you enjoyed it. I had fun doing this one. I’ve been thinking about calling animal services. It’s so abusive. That poor dog stays out all day until they come home late afternoon. He barks with no rest. It’s insane.

I worked hard to make sure I can put something out there of great quality. But I had some incredible challenges the past few weeks with neighbors constant dog barking, the other neighbors doing coral digging, and then a bunch of technical issues. So thank you for lifting my encouragement to do more videos. 🙏🏼

Hello Nelson. Firstly a beautiful learnjng video on mounting. It gives me plenty of ideas how to mount. Secondly, I wish you had situated a different way. The combination of shade & light makes the video somewhat unclear in certain spots for me. I wear glasses😟I found myself trying to bring the phone closer. Thirdly, I think you should have tended to the neighbour's dog.🙉it is so agitated that it makes me want to call animal control. Otherwise love what you share with us. Thanks for sharing love alway❤ Morris took the show!😂 love the end... you are A Show off!🤴

I hear you. The dog is very annoying. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it. I live out in the ranch area so the police does not get involved on noise issues. The laws here are very loose. Also I own a business plus run a ranch. My time is extremely limited. I do my vidrios whenever I can squeeze one in. I’m always waiting for the right moment to film, but that can take days. On the other side I have my viewers asking for more videos. So it’s been very challenging for me to do my channel in perfect conditions. When it comes to lighting, wind factor, dogs barking or any other outside disruptions, I can not fix it. I try my very best to bring you guys the clearest most detailed imagery. But it’s been a constant problem lately. This video was filmed when I got home from work and the sun was starting to go down. I don’t have studio lights or another spot in my ranch that I can film with light. Also if you are watching a how to do video on your phone, you will miss out the details. I replayed it on my iPad and tv and it looks very clear. Try watching the how to do videos on a different device. It’s way better.

I love how the phalonopsis looks on that mount. I put mine straight on the mount and put sphagnum on top and pull it off after a week, because they don't need it after they establish, that way you don't have to mess with it when the moss goes bad. They attach really fast. ( I hate saying anything, because your plants are always gorgeous, but we live in fla and they really don't need the moss). I also have a hard time keeping that green wire tight. It seems to start loosening up after a bit. 😊😊👍
@naturenel
@naturenel 2 жыл бұрын
The moss is to help the plant acclimate into its new environment. If you have a Phal that is already free rooted, you can definitely put it straight on there. But I’m my experience I’ve tried both ways and the one with moss shows to acclimate much faster as well as attach to the mount sooner. I only put a little bit on the mount and then fill some areas with moss. It will eventually fall off little by little until there is no moss. Here in Florida we get away with allot. But someone watching my tutorial up north keeping their orchids indoors would definitely need to use moss.as far as the wire, I’ve never had a problem with tightness I have some that are over 3 years old with no issues.

You did a fantastic job on these mounts. You clearly explained exactly what you were doing to put these orchids on mounts. Your instructions are very easy to follow. Well done! And, the video was just short enough for me to enjoy watching without feeling time constraints. Simba didn't steal the show - he was an added extra. (Your sponsor might want to link this video on mounts to his website.) Looking forward to watching your next video, but, please don't feel pressured to put out a specific number of videos each week (you will risk burn out).

How to get an orchid off a mount is so tricky. I had one on this tiny mount that got so big I had to take it off. Thanks for the video
@naturenel
@naturenel 2 жыл бұрын
Best way to remove an orchid from its mount is saturate the roots as much as possible. If it’s been on a mount for years, best thing to do is incorporate the existing mount onto the new mount. I just remounted a Cattleya on wood mount onto a cork. I simply placed the wood mount over the cork and attached it tightly. It actually gave it a much more regal look.
