Top tip: The CPC (earth) wires should not be twisted together in the sheathing. They should be terminated separately in case one conductor became loose and not properly terminated it would not show up on an electrical safety test because it would show continuity even without a secure termination. You need to be able to tug each conductor separately to ensure a sound connection.

Sorry not what I meant I saw the discription on which colour goes with which I mean there are two cables coming off the new socket it has an earth blue and a brown X2 The old one also has two cables (white) with earth black and red x2 (white cables how do you know which ones of the two white cables fits one of the two new gray ones or does it not matter ? Really doesn't matter which grey wire connects to which white cable. They were in no specific order in the existing old back box.

As the wago's are self clamping and shouldn't need any further adjustment throughout their lifespan. A screw type junction box may become loose due to heat distress and vibrations. For this to be truly maintenance free a cable tire needs to be inserted through the front tab. This is to ensure anyone doesn't try to open it without the form of a tool. As it contains live conductors.

Hi, great video. I use Wago connectors and boxes all the time, they're excellent. Do you know if it's legal to have them under the floor (inaccessible) if all junction box are supposed to be accessible?

I think as long as its maintenance free (which wagos are) and in a suitable enclosure (with cords grips) its fine. They don't have to be in a wago box, you could put wagos in a choc box or junction box with compression glands.

If inside the box and under the floor or in a wall, they will be deemed Maintenance Free (and BS 5573 compliant I believe), BUT, you then have to downrate the capacity of the connector being used. For example a Wago 222 is rated at 24amps for 2.5mm T and E and will be downrated to 20amps.

Yes, one spur to a double socket is allowable for each terminated position on the ring.

Hi Jono. Yes . You need to use the wago box. (The installer connectors need to be within a suitable enclosure. According to BS 7671, “every connection and termination must be enclosed irrespective of the nominal voltage”. The WAGOBOX junction box meet BS EN 60670-01 and BS EN 60670-22.)

No. If you can't access it it needs to be a "maintenance free" connection. E.g. like the wago spring levers in this video. A screw terminal requires "maintenance" to ensure it is tight periodically. The cables and terminals will naturally expand and contract with heat thus potentially loosening the screw termination.

You drilled the hole in the most dangerous place ..right under the nails you have to drill the hole centre of the Board nit enter of two boards a nail or screw could go through your cables are you actually qualified ?? these 222 series WAGO are 32A so use them.
