South African food definitely has a lot more flavour that's for sure! I know you are not allowed to take any dairy or meat products into the UK, but I am not sure about spices. You might be allowed to bring small quantities but I would definitely first check the airline rules as you don't want any unnecessary drama when traveling.

Could u please tell me what form of your marriage you submitted for your application? I have the shorter abridged marriage certificate from home affairs, do u have to submit the unabridged marriage certificate? This certificate takes very long to get.

I just used my abridged marriage certificate which was fine. I tried to get the unabridged version but also had numerous issues and they just never had the document even when it was passed the collection date so I kind of gave up on getting it. I might try again when I go back for holiday.
