HOW TO: MSD-6010, 6012, 6014 IGNITION CONTROLLER. Ls1 4.8 5.3 6.0 LQ4

I've made several videos in the past but seeing how I have new subscribers and endless questions as to wiring the MSD ignition controller. I felt it was my obligation to make another video.
You have a handful of plugs. Crank, Cam and Map sensors. As well as the plugs for both banks of cylinders.. 2 step rev limiter which is optional.
Wiring the system is very simple. Make sure you have a good ground!! That's important! Pink power goes to a 12 Volt Keyed source (fused) that's all it takes to fire off this setup.
I'll be doing a tutorial next on how to create a timing curve via the laptop. Toss the pills!! But in a pinch to get it running they will get you by!

I did this with my 79 nova 5/3 aluminum block 05 gmc truck moter got everything from jegs moter mounts oil pan flex plate intake and msd box all done and love it triple the power of the stock 350 was in it turbo 400 was ez but still spent 3000 and I had moter carb and a lot of stuff like radiator and electric fan fuel pump was definitely worth every penny

I'm normally against LS swaps personally since I like to keep my stuff as close to being era correct as possible so my 85 C30 and 86 K2500 pickups won't be seeing one at all. BUT now that I know that there's a kit to carb swap a LS engine I've actually thought about getting another square body dually or perhaps a GT400 body dually and drop in a 6.0L or perhaps build a LSX engine that would be good for low end torque if possible just to try it.

Honestly I feel that a knock sensor for a carb swap kit for the LS engines would be a nice addition if it were doable. Especially if you drop it into a pickup and work it hard for towing.

Like someone else here said short and sweet! Looking at putting a LS 6.0 in my 1966 Chevelle with a Muncie 4 speed M20 and 3.73 12 bolt posi. Got a sloppy stage 2 cam and Pac 1280 springs. Do you think that this carb would be the ticket or go with the 750 cfm? Everyone seems to rave about how good that these street demon carbs work. Great informative videos. Keep them coming. I'm running the 625 because it's what we have and the wagon only has a 2.73 gear in it. For what you're doing I would go with the 750.. my opinion of course

8.1 is a big block chevy, pull out the computer controlled distributor and throw in a old school distributor

Pink wire. Goes to a 12v switched source. Yellow wire is the signal wire for your tach

You need to use an old school transmission. If you want a modern tranny you need a TPS for the carb.

hi my name is Eric and I am getting ready to do a carbureted intake it's a deal I'm going to buy from eBay it's comes with the MSD box the I think it's all Holley intakeI'm thinking about buying it without the carburetor because it's like a Harley style carburetor and I want an Edelbrock it's going in my 2000 Chevy Silverado I just want to transfer over from fuel injection to carburetionI have been having nothing but trouble with this truck sensors constantly going off I've replaced every sensor that it says to replace and I brought it to the garage and nothing will f****** reset and it's just giving me serious bogging when I drive the truck I can't go anything more than 1/4 to 1/2 a pedal tops and a truck will bog down and have no power to solve this by putting a carbureted intake what are your thoughts on this I can't afford another truck but I can afford to throw the $900 at this cost

I always ground to the battery theres 1 12v constant you wire to battery and a 12v key on you can get jumper fuses and plug the fuse into a key on source
