Note on the insurance, here in the UK some insurers specifically exclude the Nordschlife, check your policy documents! (I noticed this first on my wife's old Citroen Picasso, all 1.6 litres 8V and 90hp of it, not exactly a racecar :-) )
@MT-eb2dx3 жыл бұрын
Same in Germany, most specifically exclude Touristenfahrten , you can even search the pdfs they provide with the policy's! Very handy.

Not to complain about your off season content, Misha, but this is the stuff your subscribers signed up for. Great video. I think your channel cultivates a feel and appreciation for the laid back attitude of the real car enthusiasts community. If it were for appreciating and respecting each other, not trying too hard and having fun with the right mindset, there would be drastically less accidents.

It’s always worth checking your car insurance as well. My policy has a specific paragraph in it that I’m not covered at the Nurburgring even though it’s considered a public road.

Misha, about the pad noise. I used to have track pads that were too noisy and I was feed up with the sound. I bought some titanium brake pad shims (are supposed to help with heat barrier for boiling brake fluid) but a side advantage of the brake pad shim is that it acts as a damper o brake pad vibration AKA that annoying sound of brake pads. I would suggest to give it a try, for me it helped a lot.

Thanks for this, good info! How much has changed for 2022? I’m just wondering about the ticket thing: so you can’t buy a paper ticket / ticket at the counter at all? You have to use your phone? But if you have an Apple iPhone it will not workbut rather you have to print it? And i’m guessing you have no local print out options? So basically you have to buy the ticket way in advance, like at your hotel if you can print it there? Sounds really cumbersome and troublesome…
@loonytoon88362 жыл бұрын
Now in 2022 all ticket sales places are open. If you just want to go there once, go and get your ticket at ED gas station at Döttinger Höhe or the ticket shop at the car park roundabout.

".. no big busses.." erm... are you thinking what I'm thinking? XD police car, tourist bus... ring a bell? Btw, after a lap (say when the parking lot is opened again) would it be advisable to go drive around for a few minutes before parking the car straight away, in order to cool down the brakes better? Last time I went to Hockenheimring TF, afterward my brakes become "uneven" or sth like that, since then it vibrates a little bit almost everytime I brake. Would driving around after a lap prevent this problem? (ofc except the obvious solution, upgrade better brake disc)

I ask this of everyone who uses the track because I've been in an accident on the track. Please be patient. If a driver can't move to the right because he's already on the left as you approach him through a corner, stay five metes back unless you are extremely experienced. Speed can drop very quickly through a corner. An inexperienced driver clipped my BMW and sent me spinning. I hit the barrier so hard, I bounced off and flipped sideways before sliding into the opposite barrier. Be patient, be aware of your speed and most importantly, don't push if you don't have experience. I was fine as my car was caged and I had a harness with helmet. I should clarify, this happened a few years back.
