Hi Ajarae! I'm an American actress, living in Europe. I'm watching your youtube site for the first time & I have subsribed to your channel. I'm sooooo thankful for all the information. Working in the biz, has been my life long passion, and I've have quite a bit of success, in Musical theater & comercial work. I studied & worked in NY, and lived in LA for only a year and some how "life" ( and love) has relocated me to Europe, where I've continued to get work, mostly in musical theater ( I'm a trained dancer & singer, too) Now I'm trying to make the "transition" to more film & tv work, and the "ball" is starting roll. It's a bit tricky, not living in LA, NY, or even London (I'm based in Vienna) but I'm not letting that stop me. I've been doing my research,I have joined some european casting sites, doing workshops, getting my reel together & learning the London system. I was recently casted in an English speaking film, which will shoot in Vienna,in March and I was in a film, 2 years back, which has been nominated for several awards, in the Austrian Film Awards Ass. Now finding You, online has been a blessing, because I was NEVER good at being my own business woman, your advise makes it less scary, and intimidating. After the holidays, I'm putting gether an imbd profile, which you have shown me how to do. So thats all for now. I will be posting my progress to you, in the future. Thank You, again, for your help. Happy Holidays!! xox

Recently I've heard from various sources that the 3-Minute reel was "dead" and that short clips where all the rage now. Given how much work I put into my 3-Minute Reel I was a little bummed, but now I see the distinct "advantages" of short clips. Alas, more editing :-(

I wanna get into acting but don’t have money for an agent. I’m in London. What should I do to progress
@GardensoftheAncientsHerbal5 жыл бұрын
Ok so find projects that you suit. Im thinking start with an indie film that has a good set of heads and can make you look good by proxy. I guess starting on projects that don't have a horde of applicants but potentially could give you a good reel is the best start. Seems as though you gotta get a reel to get started.

what about actors that really have not been in very many films mostly student films , radio , commercials
@ActingResourceGuru5 жыл бұрын
Sorry we missed this comment! Student films are a great place to start, get footage for a reel, and gain some on-set experience. We all have to start somewhere!

Hi Ajarae, thank you for the video! How many slate shots do you have on your Actor's Access profile? Thanks!
@AjaraeColeman8 жыл бұрын
Some actors only have the free one, and others have slate shots for multiple headshots... it's totally up to you!

How long should each clip be?

As long as the material that specifically features you is!

I’m new to your channel and in the process of getting back into acting. Do I need to have my own clips to create an account with actors access? Also do I need a headshot right away?
@ActingResourceGuru4 жыл бұрын
Hi SimpleLife! Thanks for watching! You don't need to have any clips to create an Actors Access account, but it does help boost your submission. You will need a headshot on your account.
@simplelifewithbruni_20264 жыл бұрын
Acting Resource Guru thank you so much. Also do I need an agent because I don’t have one.
@ActingResourceGuru4 жыл бұрын
@@simplelifewithbruni_2026 You don't need an agent to start off, but you will need one as your career grows. Something you might be interested in -- check out our free FB community of proactive actors: actorswhogetit.com

Hey Ajarae! Would love to know after how long you think before we shouldn't bother submitting for an Audition on Actor's Access or like Sites anymore? They say try to submit day of but if you absolutely cannot, what's a good time to say ok I'm letting that one go? Thanks so much! Soco
@AjaraeColeman7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the nature of the project... episodic television usually has a very short window for casting, and films, pilots, shorts etc. may be longer. Try to submit on day one. But it can't hurt either way! What do you have to lose with a submission (other than maybe $2)? :)
