Hey there Craig. Just come across your channel. Great 👍 So I've just picked mine from the garden. Tried freezing but OH my it's contaminated the fridge. Do you think it's still OK to do this now ot been frozen overnight? 😅

@Saxonforager I've gave it a go and another small jar with olive oil.😬🤞there's some left to pick I think 🤔 I'll dry them. Thanks for getting back to me so prompt happy foraging. Oh any thoughts on NETTLES I've managed to cultivate a nice wee crop in the patch with the garden so I want to use them while young
@Saxonforager8 ай бұрын
yeah just use the nettles young. Nice in pancakes or as tea (think There’s a recipe on my website www.saxonforager.co.uk or in my cookbooks on Amazon) The older nettles make good cordage

Anglo saxons and vikings didn't have mason jars 😆

So glad you came along. We were all using mason jars for years thinking they were historically accurate 🤦♂️
@Saxonforager9 ай бұрын
You could use a clay pot (I have done). I prefer modern methods for preservation as there is less risk for things like botulism

Viking or Anglo Saxon?
@WyrdWessex9 ай бұрын
Can be used by either. It’s just a preservation method. We have no recipes from the time
