just as a tip- I listened to so many of these videos before I flew for the first time, I checked in online and only had carry on luggage, so I skipped the check in counter but while boarding they needed a physical copy of my boarding pass and they told me I had to check in at the desk even if I checked in online because I was going from uk to Australia lol and they were all super mad at me so I recommend double checking especially if you don't live in the us or if its a super long flight

Something I suggest if you are young (in teens) traveling alone is to dress slightly older than your age. If you look more adult you blend in more, but if you are obviously child looking it makes you more susceptible to creepy people, singling you out.

Thank you for this tutorial One thing about liquids and specifically perfumes, they must have a cap over the push down button. One reason is that during the transit from conveyor to plane and back home there's a lot of times it bumps and throwing involved. As cap wills prole vent accidental spraying. If you want to sent a nice scent gift and you pick it up at half capacity either the small plastic tube was twisted and broken and it's leaking, or repeated squirt during all the time caused it to go. Speaking from experience :(

I got a 2.5 hour treatment (1 hour body scrub of your choice, 1 hour massage, 30 minute facial) with private room and bathroom. The scenery was SO beautiful and they let you pick your scrub. It was 80 usd and a treatment like that in America would be over $700 to $1000 for sure in a beautiful place. Probably even more lol. Your mom sounds like a lovely person

Do I have to find my luggage (or they'll transfer it automatically for the next flight), check in again at the counter, go through security and then find my Gate or when I arrive at the airport, I simply go and find my Gate ?

Hi Erica! These were very helpful tips. I’m traveling solo for the first time in 2 weeks to New York from TX. I’m nervous alright! 😅 I’ve heard that when you’re at your gate and are about to line up, they line you up with your “group”. What does that mean? I assumed that everyone just lines up together to get onto the plane. How do we know exactly what group we’re in?
@buildyourmoxie28 күн бұрын
Hello! :) thanks for watching erin! Hehe. For boarding group, this will be on your boarding pass! :). Sometimes it is letters sometimes it is numbers. Usually first group is first class, business class or priority :). Make sure you go when your group is called so you can get overhead space for your carry on bag :). They do this to stay organized and to reward those who paid more money or those who checked in early

All water bottle filling stations are so different! :P so some may be super cold still. But i would say most that i encounter it is room temperature. The size of bottle is up to you. I try not to bring more than 32 ounce bottle because it will take up too much space.

I'm 18 here and this is my second time ever getting on a plane, first time by myself and I just gotta say i thought it would be 10x as stressful and have a lot more steps, looks like the hardest step is actually in my opinion getting the boarding pass and check in bag however if i just have a carry on and no check in bag do i still need to go the counter? . Thank you for keeping it simple!
@buildyourmoxie29 күн бұрын
Hi! :) great question!! I would say in a way you are correct. The line to check in and checking in the larger check in suitcase can be stressful for some because the line can be long. If you do not have a checked bag, and you already have your mobile boarding pass, then you can skip this step and head straight to security yay! :). However me personally, i still like to have a hard copy. So i dont walk to the counter and instead i just head over to the kiosk to get a printed boarding pass. :). But really if you have mobile boarding pass and your carry on, you are good to go
@buildyourmoxie29 күн бұрын
Sometimes there might not be a kiosk to get your boarding pass. So if there is no line, I’ll just run up to get a printed one at the counter. But sometimes i skip this and just head to security if I’m doing carry on only and i have my boarding pass on my cell phone

When going through security, do I have to take my laptop out of the case along with all my chargers (laptop, kindle, phone) or can I keep everything in their zipper cases when putting them into the bin? Also, is there usually an area where you can organize your stuff after going through the scanners so as to not hold up the line? 😬

I, going with only a carry on so how do I get the boarding pass if I skip the check in step?
@buildyourmoxie29 күн бұрын
Hi! It depends on the airline :). Sometimes you can just get it on your mobile device by checking in online. Other times you will have to visit the kiosk if they have a kiosk :). You can get a printed boarding pass at the kiosk.
@buildyourmoxie29 күн бұрын
If there is no kiosk, and no option to get your mobile boarding pass after you check in, then unfortunately you will need to visit the counter to get a printed one

Are the seats always assigned? I've only flown once, but we were allowed to just sit wherever. Maybe it depends on who you're flying with but I just want to make sure I'm prepared
@buildyourmoxie4 ай бұрын
Hi! It depends on the airline!! Most will let you pick your seats when you buy the ticket. But some like Southwest will not.
@Simply_Mars4 ай бұрын
@@buildyourmoxieOkay thank you! I was also wondering if the process is any different flying alone as a minor? Again i'm sure it's a little different depending on who you're flying with, but I saw some things about needing to have someone at the airport when you arrive to pick you up and maybe some other things. I'm 17 if that makes any difference.
@buildyourmoxie4 ай бұрын
@@Simply_Mars you should be fine if you are 17 for most airlines. Are you traveling domestically or internationally? It would be different if you were 9 years old but 17 should be fine. I would still do a google search for your airline just in case :)

How about hawaii to fly up to California how can I find the gate I mean? Like I mean how can I find the number for gate go to California
@buildyourmoxieАй бұрын
It should say on your boarding pass :). But always check that board with all the electronic numbers everywhere. Look for your flight number and time and then it will tell you which gate to go to :). If you are still unsure, ask a staff member

So I'm taking a cross country flight next month that is going to be roughly four and a half hours. It's not the first flight that I've ever taken, but it is the first one that I've taken in about fourteen years, so I'm a bit lost. I've read that neck pillows don't count as your carry on or personal item. Is this accurate? Also, can you take a neck pillow and a lumbar pillow? I have pretty severe chronic pain and understand that flying in the main cabin (not sure if this is any different from economy) isn't the most comfortable, even for healthy people. If need be, would getting a note from my doctor help make things easier? I'm taking a Delta flight for reference.
@buildyourmoxie6 ай бұрын
Hi Ben! Some airlines are different. Some want you to have your pillow inside your personal item or carry on. If you have the puffy ring one and can’t fit it inside your personal item or carry on, I recommend just wearing it on your neck as you pass the boarding people to get on the plane. I’ve never seen anyone tell a passenger to take it off. You just have to pass the people that scan your boarding ticket then you can take it off your neck lol. It’s very common for people to bring pillows but I always take the extra step to wear it just in case the scanning people are in a mood lol. Sometimes you can hook it onto your luggage handle but I’ve seen some airlines tell you to put it in your bags hence that’s why you can wear it. I use the trtl pillow because it’s very small. amzn.to/45eotba Also I recommend using a sweatshirt for lumbar pillow. And sometimes international flights will provide one. Here is a video I think will help you kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGq8fpZ9pLadkNksi=bqidLn6r-7cmDdLc

If you’re traveling domestically do you still need your passport to show at the counter? Do we just show them our online boarding ticket, drop off the bag, and they’ll give us our printed ticket?
@buildyourmoxie6 ай бұрын
Are you from the United States? If so, you just need drivers license (Real ID) Go to counter when you get there to drop off bag. And they can print you a paper boarding pass if you want.
@grapeleiva22666 ай бұрын
@@buildyourmoxie ok, thank you! And I heard something of giving a plane confirmation number to the worker. Is that number used to check in to our flights?
@buildyourmoxie6 ай бұрын
@@grapeleiva2266 as long as you have ur boarding pass, no worries :). The boarding pass has everything on it that you need. To get the boarding pass you need your ID When you board the plane, the people will scan it.

Do i have to take off my jewelry at the security?

Only big pieces like watches usually! If it’s huge heavy earrings or necklaces or bracelets they might make you take it off! But like little earring studs and dainty jewelry you will be fine ❤️
