Thank you, James for your videos. I spent 20 years in a toxic relationship. I finally Left it. I found your videos here and Stoicism. I am reading Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus. Your videos have given me a way to apply Stoic philosophy in my everyday life and to find a place to heal, also to become more anchored in the present. Thank you for these tools

This video resonates deeply with me, especially the idea of detaching from external events to cultivate inner peace. It’s a powerful reminder that our emotions are within our control, and by practicing this, we can respond with clarity and wisdom in everyday life. Definitely a Stoic principle worth applying!

From your video I learn that: Protecting your mental peace is crucial; sometimes that means limiting exposure to toxic people, even if they're close to you. Lowering your expectations can also help you stay unbothered, as it gives you control over your emotions and prevents unnecessary disappointment. Thanks!

This was informative, thank you. When someone asks me something inappropriate or it is just none of their business, I usually say " why do you ask ?", then when they give me the lame "Oh I was just wondering", I look at them and say "Oh" , and let the silence hang there. 😊
