I am a 6’2” 15 year old player. I’ve always been put at center because I’ve always been the tallest on the team. Since I was put at center, my coaches never allowed me to do any of the shooting or handling drills, and I’d be stuck with post drills. So I took it upon myself to try and become a guard. Your videos and others like it are the reason why I am now a shooter and have good handles. Btw, I finally got out of the center position and am starting at small forward now

I like the video, nice moves well explained and good video sequences. However, I have one point, correct me if I am wrong: If the defender is not in the no charge zone and you hit him with your shoulder in the chest I would deffo give an offensive foul. In my opinion there is also no discussion if the contact is heavy or not, you go with your shoulder directly to the body of the defensive player its a charge foul except the contact is not heavy and the defender is positioned in the no charge zone.

@@Dylan-bh6mr If you Really Need To And they are coming behind or to the side Kinda Throw your hip into them and hold the ball further to the other side ( if you throw your hip to the left finish with ur arm on your right side ) that should cause enough seperation and if they are behind you kinda throw your ass into them lmao and that will also cause some forms of seperation between you and the defender and don't forget to take your time when finishing sometimes waiting a second while in the air is the difference between being blocked and getting the shot off in time.

Then go for his waist area. In football shorter defensive tackles always attack taller guys legs because it takes away their leverage to move. As a much shorter player you can apply that same concept on the court.

I needed this video. I am orientating my game around driving and being able to finish. Do you think this is a good idea?
@Chandasouk7 жыл бұрын
Are you tall and strong? There are small guards like Iverson and Kyrie that are excellent finishers, but they are more of the exception than the norm. I'm a short player, so I usually stick to the perimeter and straight line drives when I can.

what if the blocker just waits under the ring to block you.Like when you jump he jumps too and just makes a wide space of his hands to block lay ups if shoot he will just swing the spaced arms down if neuro step he will just turn a little bit and block you Elbow in the chest dosent work coz he wont cave but if you do it harder you will have foul how do u get pass him?.Also he has a high jump and long arm so he could reach the ball or just grab it anytime.Jumpshot? he will just put his arms together.....
