People having issues eating the fat of a steak: that will go away with time once your brain and tastebuds are all carnivore/fat adapted. In the short term, you can cook up the fat strips separately. What I would avoid in the beginning is eating the rendered fat; the liquid/greasy drippings in the pan or fryer or whatever. You will see people pouring that on their food in videos, but it moves so quickly through you and triggers an excess production of bile salts that can overwhelm your digestive tract. This can lead to indigestion, heartburn, and diarrhea. The solid fat will be fine, just crisp it up if it helps. Or even save it and refrigerate it. When it's cold, it's VERY delightful to snack on, flavorful, not gloopy or slimy or burnt, and will be very soothing to the digestive system. Not to mention, slow-processing so it will help keep you satiated. It isn't a matter of "what works for you" vs. "what works for me." We are more the same than we are different. We are the same species with the same systems, organs, and cell types. There are subtle variations, but not radically so. Some people can go fat-heavy: see Steak and Butter Gal; others go a little leaner. Some never fast: see Dr. Chaffee; others fast: see Laura. But the bulk of it remains the same - make your main ingredient fatty red meat and a lot of struggles go away. And again...YOU DON'T HAVE TO RELY ON WILLPOWER. You eat when hungry. You eat meat. You won't be hungry every two hours like you were on a traditional diet.

As a toddler I would climb up on the cupboard and eat the butter, so I've been told. As a carnivore, I was so delighted when eating butter was a thing . . I fully embraced the concept. I was strict for the first 30 days, then went on holiday, had a beer and then had bread. I got back on track, for another 30 days, then I ate a few crisps and crackers at a party and then could not get through a day without eating carbs. I struggled really bad to stay off carbs, got to 110 days, limping through. I decided to take a break. I binged for 4 days - I decided to not feel guilty about it as that was the way I have always been around diets and that just made things worse. I decided to restart. OMGoodness it was super hard, I fell off the bus again- my joint pain was back and I was sluggish and very moody. I’m back on now for 6 days clean and I feel great again. I got my energy back and joint pain is subsiding and I lost 2.4kg in 7 days. I watched your meal plan preps again and decided to have more variety, just to keep it interesting ❤

A lot of times when people are struggling on carnivore, the first issue is that they aren't being honest with themselves. They are still having sandwiches, or pizza, or sweets from "time-to-time," or caffeinated beverages, or smoking, but it's actually enough that their body is trying to utilize carbs as the primary energy source while storing fat. Furthermore, the reward-center of their brain will maintain that addiction and crave every few hours, so they end up fighting themselves. Another trap is people staying up late, in bed, doom-scrolling on their phones. That blue light and steady stream of dopamine triggers elevates cortisol (stress hormone) levels which can throw off our sleep, and our metabolism. That is a small thing that can have dangerous results. This all leads to the "it didn't work for me," syndrome where people give up. Biologically and physiologically, carnivore CAN'T fail human beings when done correctly. Sometimes we need to be called to the mat and not just affirmed and coddled all the time. I have to face this myself! I have to others, and have had them do it to me, where we legit hold one another accountable for what we are eating. From grocery shopping together, even viewing bank statements to ensure no one is cheating lol. That sounds extreme, but if you are someone who struggles being honest and accountable with yourself, you need that monitoring - if only for a short while. When people aren't losing weight - assuming weight is an issue for them - there is usually something that can be found in their diet or routine that is inhibiting their progress. It isn't that your body is so uniquely snowflake that it refuses to lose weight. EDIT/FOLLOW UP: And it doesn't have to be micro-managing forever. Sometimes carnivores get so into that side of it that they forget the part where this diet makes them feel great, makes them healthier, period. They create entire social media or Reddit threads about the nanograms of micronutrients they need to get (that they probable don't even understand) and become obsessed until they screw everything up in a totally different way. Just do the real work to the point that the cravings and self-eval dishonesty become a thing of the past. Also beware of under-eating too. That can throw hormone levels off, slow down the metabolism, and cause a different set of problems. That aside, carnivore isn't complicated. Eat intuitively with mostly fatty red meat - you won't crave, you won't need motivation or willpower, you will feel better, you will lose weight, you will be healthier.

Yes losing weight is wonderful but losing the fat around the waist is fantastic. We have fallen off occasionally for a day or two but get right back to eating healthy with no problem. We’ve overcome the sugar addiction and we don’t partake in sweets. We know our triggers and avoid those. We love how we feel eating meat based.

While it took a couple of months to dial in (for me) the amount of fuel I needed daily.. I found that.. 99% of those online "calorie calculators" based on youR height, current weight/goal weight, age and gender are TOTAL CRAP! I suggest focusing more on the Macro's rather than the calories. But unfortunately, "calories" do come in to play, but in a less broader sense. Setting a goal for your REALISTIC weight.. can be more easliy accomplished if you use a couple rules of thumb: 1) 1 gram of quality complete protein for 1 pound of ideal body weight. 2)keeping at least a 55% Fat:45% Protein ratio.. Some people find a higher (good) fat ratio, like 60% to 70% may work better for them.. some find 50/50 works great. Dont be fixed and rigid on this.. as over time.. your body needs may and can change.. Your body will adjust to the correct weight if you're eating correctly.. So focusing on what the weight scale says should NOT be a priortiy... Let your waist line and how your clothes fit tell you how you're doing. LADIES YOU NEED TO GET A GOOD HORMONE BLOOD PANEL DONE TO INCLUDE THRYROID. If your hormones are out of whack..this whole process will be a struggle and will likely cause you to give up! Get your hormones back in balance! Now for the part many dont want to address.. YOUR BODY IS DESIGNED TO MOVE.. YUP all true.. You need to get some excercise.. You dont have to start out hard.. start by walking everyday.. You'd be amazed at not only how good you feel, but how much this improves your overall goals! Get yourselves a good pair of walking shoes, comfortable clothing.. and FITNESS WATCH that monitors your activity vitials and metrics.. Heart Rate, distance, time, calories. Track and monitor your food intake and your activity .. I will suggest and tell you that RESISTANCE TRAINING will allow you to build muscle which will burn fat and that should be at the top of the list of your goals!

And cholesterol was up too. Not sure why and no one can tell me why. Of course my doctor says.....cut out the fat (which i understood was NOT the reason for high TG). So i have no idea what to believe.

How long does it take to heal hormones? I started carnivore (came from 5 yrs keto) January 1st after nursing for 2 years. Lost 20 within first few months and have just been teetering back and forth between the same 5 lb since. 3 weeks ago I cut out heavy cream bc I was overindulging and heavily relying on it no change in scale but did notice less mucous in the morning so that’s a plus!! I really just want to tone up, I was roughly 25 lighter not that the number matters but I felt great before pregnancy and was really successful losing and maintaining before last pregnancy with keto, stayed keto then eventually switched to carnivore at the beginning of the year ..Idk what I’m missing, I’m fat adapted and eat when I’m hungry. Have been tracking the past few weeks and am eating enough for my height, so I don’t think it’s undereating at this point and I’m not gorging myself, either..Overall I feel good, just holding onto extra belly fat and the scale just won’t move (despite knowing it has in the past )other than that, I’ve been experiencing feet pain from being on my feet constantly but don’t think diet will help that I am drinking unflavored LMNT packets to prevent cramps and help keep hydrated. Thoughts on what else I could be missing?
