Anyone else feel like they kinda get overwhelmed rather than bored? Like what to do, harvest my crops, go to the nether, adventure some more, go mining, expand on my house, decorate, landscape? There’s so much to do at any time you want that I find myself not being able to pick and just running around my property in circles looking at everything
@flyingdoggo9887
@flyingdoggo9887 4 жыл бұрын
Depends on what your mood is, If you want an adventure or an adrenaline rush then I strongly suggest the nether. If you just had a near death experience and need to calm down, harvest your crops. If you're just bored and/or have no ideas, then go mining. Whatever fits your mood.

thanks....I'm a 62-year-old player. I love starting a new base..I was just doing survival. Right now I'm messing about in creative and using it to become a better builder. One thing I did was build my own village from scratch and then turn the village 'on' in survival and let it run. I tagged my villagers and gave them names watching their progress. I also have tried new mods like the one with the built-in map so I can retrace my steps without using F3. You're right there are a lot of diffrent ways to switch up the game.

I love Minecraft! My son loves that I do and we play together often in the 2 years since I got it. That being said, I still haven't fought the dragon. The first year and a half I only explored or used creative mode without even knowing what I was doing. I'd watch your videos and I still didn't know what I was doing but the exploration was my biggest tear of the pyramid. Next was finding villages. I love villagers, even the wondering trader with his silly trades. I've only recently begun actually building useful things such as storage rooms. Building is becoming my second tear and I'm learning that it's best to build well away from a village. My current goal is to start a new world and try to follow an organized way to the End dimension finally. We truly loved this video Pix!

I've just recently defeated the Dragon after playing the game for a couple of years myself, but I needed to go to the End to find Elytra so I can Map my Oceans before 1.16 comes out and makes Shipwrecks and Underwater Ruins more rare. The main project I was working on was to move out of my Spawn Chunks as it was getting too laggy to stay there, and I always knew the End wasn't going anywhere. So I guess my favorite part of the game is prepping for the next updates, and having the best gear and weapons in the game. I even have a complete catalog of Librarians and have recently moved them to the Nether from my Spawn Chunks. By working on projects until they are done, or at least until other projects start to feel neglected, I can always have something to do and to come back to when I feel like it.

I'm an explorer at heart, I love lassoing my first horse and crafting a map to explore. I always try to make my worlds different but I always fall back on a Central Hub (Usually a Spire or Castle depending on terrain) and then explore the surrounding landscape, interacting with the villagers and collecting plants or animals for my gardens or zoo's. Minecraft to me is a feel good game, its easy to get carried away and bite off more than you can chew, but at the same time theres no pressure to succeed. This is your world, if you can't finish that city or tower, just smooth the rougher edges and call it a ruin.

That's good advice. In my single player world at the moment I'm not rushing for the dragon. I'm focusing on building a useful spawn area and then eventually I'll kill the dragon and grab some wings and move out to another place in the world and start a new base. Then I'll have a need to make a nice nether hub etc. This way, I can kinda tinker in the world without feeling stressed. Some days I grab a copy of the world and fire it up in creative to develop my build skills. (I'm not a great builder but am getting better) I find that being patient is helping me with getting the planning and design right. My environment has more of a considered feel to it now. The main thing is, for the first time in ages, I'm excited about the long term prospects for this world.

Two, I pulled out my art supplies and started doing a new illumination / calligraphy project in the evenings. Switch it up - I still have a creative outlet I can go to, and when I'm done with it, I'll go back and pick something new to challenge myself in Minecraft... :)

the way I found to keep me interested and having fun while playing was to allow cheats and start using the creative mode. I`m a building guy too and after I managed to construct all the simpler stuff, I found myself with no free time necessary to gather resources for the more ambitious/sophisticated project. and with no advancements on those, I found me starting to get really bored and frustrated. so I decided to start using creative, because you know, it is not a crime or anything, and found myself having fun again now that I don`t need to spend X hours gathering all the resources.

What I love in Minecraft is it’s survival aspect, the hunting, cooking staying alive, really grinding and scavenging for resources, etc. what happens is when i get to mid to endgame, the game’s help like stuff starts to get over, looting on sword, fortune on pick axe, and everything then has mending. At that point 99% for me the grind is over, I don’t have to hunt for food, loot for resources (because I already got diamond armour and don’t need more) I started a new world and got full diamond set with tools and weapons all enchanted to max, just within 4 day. I don’t have a roof on my head I sleep in open fields, have a storage room with no roof. And now I’m thinking twice before playing Minecraft that do I wanna play that world? Because I have ideas and plans like building a kingdom of mine full of villages and have villagers with mending and all available, just the building part is left. But the grind is done, of survival. I really want to survive on the edge. I tried adding mods for the game, but there are no mods for 1.15.2 like thirst and temperature (tough as nails is perfect but discontinued and only available till 1.12.2) what I can do now is just wait I guess for a thirst mod to come out for 1.15.2 and higher or play the game with self limitations to the enchantments and stuff like that to keep me on edge, like only using iron tools and below. Mending is great but that thing takes the grinding out for me. Sorry if I’ve made to big comment, I tried to tell my point and take my frustration out a little bit by talking to you guys 😅😅😅

Now after binge watching your survival guide, i am starting to explore red stone and auto farms. I am not really into the combat side of the game, so just prefer to explore and build. When I get bored or start to lack inspiration I either watch videos from content creators like yourself or I hop on a creative world with my 5 year old grandaughter and build a pixel art penguin just because we could. this helped inspire me to play survival so thank you so much, it also helps me feel less “guilty” from needing a break from the game. it feels like taking a break from a game that doesn’t end feels like quitting but this made me realize no i can just come back more fueled and more inspired.

I think the reason why I like your videos so much Pixlriffs, is because I seem to have a similar set of interests in the game... I'm definitely a builder, I get bored with the grind and progression after a while and tend to switch to creative so I can just build stuff, but watching your videos, I've kind of been inspired to stick with survival and build IN survival. I'm ashamed to say, I've been playing since alpha, and I've never fought the Ender Dragon, or the Wither... the Dragon is my next challenge lol

You can also do a soft-restart. Starting all over again without deleting your world. Put all your gear, tools and materials in a chest with just leaving yourself with a stack of food. Then just continue walking in one direction until you your food is finally finished. Back to square one. This is good since you can always visit your old bases and enjoy the memories.

Thank you so much for this video!! I've played Minecraft for nine years now and yet I still learn something from you. Personally, my problem is not boredom or burnout. My issue is staying focused. Minecraft encourages creativity and imagination. There are so many options that I find it difficult to sit still and finish one project before I have twenty ideas for more. Once I allow myself to get sidetracked, I have a hard time going back and finishing a previous project because that's an "old" idea. That being said, Minecraft is meant to be fun. It's a game. It is entertainment. Whether I finish a project or not, I am having an incredible amount of fun and am most definitely entertained. In response to your inquiry, my "pyramid" is builder, exploration, progress, and combat. I enjoy the benefits of redstone farms when I'm on a server with a friend, but in single player I rarely do anything redstone related other than a simple smelter or minecart rails. … Oh and the frequent updates are wonderful and fun, but also just give me more distractions. lol P.S. Actually, my pyramid would have villagers squeezed in after builder and before exploration. They bring more life to the world, in my opinion, and I thoroughly enjoy interacting with them, "refurbishing" their village, etc.

Projects do get broader as you progress through the game, and there is literally no way that you can start and complete each project as you get to it. After awhile, you just have to work on a project until something else demands your attention. Cows and Crops grow, smelters smelt etc. and you have to feed them, quite often it seems.

I’d say my beacon piece is PVP, not a fan of fighting things in general, not very interesting to me. My diamond layer is Redstone. I use it if I have to but I actually prefer keeping things manual, it makes it all more fun for me to feel like I’m gathering resources all the time, like my hard work is paying off again and again. Gold is progression. I love checking off objectives but it’s not a make or break part of my fun. Emerald is building. I adore taking an area of cool landscape and making it into something beautiful. I sometimes just spend twenty minutes or so running around my realm and standing on high ground to look at my builds from above because I’m so proud of them, even if they aren’t perfect or expert level. Iron is definitely exploration. I love filling in maps, finding shipwrecks, exploring ruins, mapping out caves, and discovering villages. I’d spend all my time exploring if I knew I could get back home to my builds easily, but since I haven’t quite mastered the art of making a nether hub that’s tricky to do. I usually end up downloading maps from other people and exploring those when I have free time just to scratch that itch.

Beacon: Progression (I despise the first few days in minecraft... their worthless in the end, they dont contribute to my larger goals, they don't have purpose imo (this is why i play more minigames than survival and why I have such hard time playing singleplayer)) Diamond layer: PvP (yes I like pvp but ive gotten bored of it) Gold layer: Exploration, I like to go caving, find landscapes, villages, dungeons etc (I map every place I go to) Emerald layer: Building, I'm a perfectionist, everything has to be perfect (this why first survival days are annoying to me: I can't perfect it because I don't have the resources to perfect it, I get frustrated and stop) Redstone: Prototech, SciCraft is a dream to me, they perfect everything, optimize everything and nothing better exists, small scale farms aren't good enough for me (Singleplayer gets frustrating because of this) But If you give me redstone I'll for sure know what to do with it! In creative world I built an AI that recognizes numbers :D (inspired of Vsauce) or a virtual pet (Etho made Wilson for example) Get me on an end-game level and I'll be happy (I dont really care about the first days: Where to build a base for the long term, What to build in the first days, how I can become End-game etc

Currently rebuilding my village close to my base on my realm I share with my daughter and her friends. Came up with the idea after watching some of the videos she watches of changing it to an oriental themed village with pagoda's and more coloured trees. Ties in beautifully with Japanese folklore of 5 realms - Earth (the village), Water (my base is supposed to be an underwater base overlooking a coral reef), fire (Nether Hub castle design), Air (I've always wanted to do a floating Island) and Spirit (another floating island full of undead). Current project is two multi-drop waterfalls, one either side of the cave complex I'm building in the foothill by the village for the Blacksmiths in the Earth Realm. Also want to zombify and heal every villager for cheaper trades :-). so quite a bit to keep me entertained ;-)

A thing that Pixlriffs misses - which is understandable, it's kind of invisible - is that looking at what people are doing is a level of playing this game. If you're having fun watching minecraft videos, or seeing things other people do, that's fine. Lots of times there are going to be comments on these videos that kind of bemoan 'oh, what he's building is great, what I build is a dirt box,' and that's kind easy to give into, but if you see someone doing something in a video and you're impressed or enjoy it, _but don't want to make it yourself_ that's absolutely fine and worth respecting. It's an amazing game and there's no real wrong way to play

My favourite thing to do in mc is build auto farms. Idk why i just find it so cool it all started when i build an simple automatic sugar cane farm then did the same thing but for bamboo and i expanded from their. A big reason i stopped playing very much on my world was iron. I kept running out an had to mine for it which i would never get as many as i needed even after a hour of mining. I put off building an iron farm for one reason... Villagers have always been hell to work with my villagers breeder is always not working (idk why and idk how to fix it). Just yesterday i worked up the motivation to build the farm and i did now i have crazy iron and im finally able to continue building different auto farms without running out of iron.

To me, the most important part of playing a game is having fun. Ask yourself if you love the game and you're playing it for your own enjoyment, or if you're just trying to play it to be like someone else or impress other people. I stopped playing Minecraft seriously 2 years ago because I just couldn't get enough enjoyment out of it. Since then I've switched my focus to other games, like osu! for example, and I love playing it. Maybe the game you'll enjoy the most is not the one you think, so trying new games and new genres is the best advice I can give to people that are getting bored of Minecraft. And remember, if you're not having fun, you're just going to get more and more bored, and eventually hate what you're doing. Hope this helps adding more details to Step 5 !
