The biggest issue I've had with most of the modes is the game's love affair with spawning enemies behind you in areas that were completely secure. I know they want to make people keep moving, but it doesn't mesh well with the intensely methodical gameplay of higher levels.

There are some levels/areas where they are always spawning. Generally you should be able to clear then loot and move on. Also the more you play the faster you get with knowing what to grab when looting and knowing where to look for loot. Be on the lookout for corruption cards that cause reoccurring hordes, you need to time your progress with those. Hunker down and clear the horde then try and cover as much ground as possible until the next one hits.

I just hate how they spawn relatively right behind you. For example, they spawn in rooms where you already breached in cleared. Also, they barely make noise until they're very very nearby.

I find that i keep on losing on nightmare when the AI director trolls you super hard. Like if you see a tallboy or a fat boy, and behind them they are hiding a snitch or an alarmed car. And sometimea they pair it with a mist and or fog card then you are fighting an ogre or the hoard you accidentally trigger with a hag Edit: oh and i will not forget how the team is reorganizing in a small supply room on VETERAN, and the game spawns 3 tall boys or 3 fatboys round the corner, then turning said room into a killbox

I’ve found certain levels on nightmare act 1 are easier with bots others you really need a team. Bots don’t alert snitches or birds and drop you ammo and follow your lead. They are just dumb. But without a team you get people who are dumb that don’t do any of the plus things that bots do. But certain levels you want a team because if you get grabbed pinned or anything they usually just let you die or take too long.

Use the breakout card if playing solo with bots (hell it's good for playing with randos too). You could also use evangelo cause his passive gives you a quick break out every 60 seconds without the card.

I don't know if anyone else caught onto this, and you mentioned it multiple times through out about having zombies hit locked doors. You can break open doors as soon as the door takes /one hit/ from a zombie. You don't have to wait for the whole door to go down. You can create holes in wooden doors, like you mentioned, and shoot zombies through it, but metal doors you will have to break completely.

Also, you can punch sleepers through the wall if you have access to the opposite side. You will typically see a blood splatter or hear them fall to the ground.

Hey, dope video! I didnt know so little people cleared nightmare :o Ive cleared most of it solo with bots, rest with random served players. Mostly played evangelo with a shotgun build. My best tip is SOUND. Sound will tell you literally everything, what zombies is coming, and where they are coming from/hiding at. 2nd tip is KITING. You can kite (almost) everything in the game if you build for it.

Not sure if you mention this next video but if you do end up with bots, which since I’ve been playing with them I would strongly argue they are better then players, if you find a health cabinet you can ping it and they’ll heal up for free so they can face tank more for you.

I actually prefer having bots for nightmare. Most of the time they perform way better and any triggers and faults caused are by yourself alone. Some bot info: - Bots don’t trigger hordes or snitches - Don’t take DoT or Trauma damage - Don’t consume ammo or items - They no longer use free charges and can use wall health infinitely (just ping it) - They’ll drop ammo for you (seemingly infinite) - Copper is distributed to players depending on how many bots - They now have team based cards Generally having a bot sucks but running around with 3 that teleport to you is actually op in nightmare. They coordinate fire and have effectively infinite health due to infinite wall heals. Making them super tanks. Plus you can run through levels without worrying about team fuck ups.

If you build for high base (bullet or melee damage) you can take them down pretty quickly with just regular hits. With a good fire axe and high melee damage you can 1-2 hit them pretty easily. You can also try to bait them to hit then dodge though it helps if someone else does the bait so you are ready to go for weak spot when they attack and show it. There are also some places like certain stair cases where you can stand behind the stairs up top and shoot them in the weak spot while they walk up facing the other way.

Know what I realized about nightmare solo with bots? It's that the beginning of an act is extremely difficult.. like borderline impossible. But once you get a few levels in, it's really not so bad as long as you're speced for damage. The best build I could come up with that has got me the furthest is a deck built around SMG and focused on damage. UMP is my primary and then either magnum or deagle for secondary and make sure to pick admin reload. GG

I made it to the humvee hold out spot outside the diner with just a basic melee build sadly the bots just kept running around in circles I got grabbed and it all fell down within 10 seconds but it's way more do able then it was at launch in my opinion.

Something I've noticed people never do is ping health stations, this prompts the bots to heal and they can use an unlimited amount of times. An amazing way to keep a full tem when solo running or duo running vet and nightmare

Here's SE upsides of bots they will never trigger hords with snitches, doors, or birds even with taddler card were nomatter what players do they will go off. they can heal endifinatley from first aid cabinets with ping. They drop iffininte ammo for you. They can call specials that would be out of sight Wich is useful with fog

Just make a melee tank build. Run pills constantly and run anything else for quick slot or offensive. Personally I run either grenade for myself or pipe bomb if I have faith in my team. For quick slot I use a stun gun majority of the time since my team seems to just walk past while I’m pinned. For veteran however you’ll definitely need at least one person with you to work with. You can try using game chat or the text chat but majority of the time it’s new players who have no clue on how hard veteran is with a starter deck.

No! Sir! You can't suck if the developers go out of thier way to make sure "YOU" fail! Even with the special cards that use up ammo. Those cards become useless at higher difficulty. I tried repeatedly with a good team. We were overwhelmed almost non stop by hordes of fireproof ridden with too much damage and acid. Plus random damage out of nowhere. B.S. little wonder for all the hate for this game. First game I truly regret and hated buying 😩
