If you have a dormant savings account even without BVN just send money to that account via worldremit and they will open a dormicilliary account for you and link it with your exisiting naira savings account, it worked for me in First bank and Access bank. If your account is dormant or without BVN you can desposit into that account but you can't withdraw. If you want to send to a relative or anybody else just send the money to the persons naira account and a dollar domicialliary account will be opened for that person. It works with First bank, Fidelity bank, Access bank, GTbank and some other banks. CBN have simplified things.

How do you close dead persons account in Nigeria!! Thank you.
@FloFinance
@FloFinance 3 жыл бұрын
The person stated as the next of kin should go to the bank with any bank documents and the death certificate and speak with the customer service person. Or better, look up the email address of the bank's general customer service on their website, send an email to them and ask them. They will give you a more detailed list of documents you need to present including documents you may need to get from a law court.

Hi Flo, I'm a Diasporan and find a lot of your videos very invaluable. I have a question to ask about domiciary accounts. I still don't understand why I need one? I have an active Niara account. If I need to give anyone in Nigeria money I transfer Naira from my Nigerian naira account to the person's account. For regular transfers I set up a standing order from my Nigerian account to the recipient's naira account. Topping up my Nigerian account with naira is very easy. There are people in the UK who change your pounds for you and put the Niara equivalent in your Nigerian naira account using the most current exchange rate. Why do I then need a domiciary account? Please what am I missing? Thanks for your help.
@FloFinance

If you are lucky to have a place that STILL transfers to your Naira account post latest CBN policy, please continue using it hush hush. Any outlet or app that is still doing that is doing so illegally and CBN will shut it down when they find out. For those of us that are not so lucky (none of the outlets where I live sends to Naira accounts these days), we need a dollar account. Or we send to someone that will pick it over the counter.

@FloFinance
@FloFinance 3 жыл бұрын
You need a residence permit before you can open a dollar account in Nigeria. In the absence of that, you can send the money directly to your fiance to pick over the counter. Watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqPRpWdjnsZssKc

@FloFinance

@@JevonMusicGroup who is the American citizen? You or your fiancée? If your fiancée in Nigeria is Nigerian, she can open a dollar account in her own name, that way she does not have to carry large amounts around. She can also invite the bureau de change guy she is dealing with to the bank such that all exchanges happen within the bank whenever she wants to withdraw money from her dollar account.

very soon Nigeria will be like Zimbabwe. Where the Bond note is rejected by the citizenry and the Dollars is the preferred currency of trade and exchange. The only fear I have for the dollar Domiciliary account is that the naija government will wake up one day and start raiding those accounts for foreign currency and exchanging them with useless naira notes.

You mean a prepaid dollar CARD?

@abuguhillary5285 3 жыл бұрын
Yes and the prepaid dollar card has an account which can only be funded in dollar not naira
@FloFinance
@FloFinance 3 жыл бұрын
A prepaid dollar card is just a debit card (visa or mastercard) that is denominated in dollars that you use to have access to the money in your dom account while a domiciliary account is the foreign currency account itself. The card is useful for international online purchases and for payments for goods and services quoted in dollars. It's just like having a debit card for your Naira account which you can use to pay for goods and services at POSs. If you do not have a dom account already and apply for the card, they will open a dom account for you to go with the card because you need a dom account to hold the money you will pay in.

Nigeria Punches Online Banking As Dorm Accounts Get Restrictions March 11, 2021 | by Ndubuisi Ekekwe | 6 One week, one issue and another one is coming on March 20, 2021. Yes, “This is to inform you that instant completion for international transfers on our digital platforms will cease from March 20, 2021. All international third-party transfers initiated on any of our digital channels will be completed at the back office after receipt of relevant supporting documents,” says a bank circular. What does that mean? You need documentation to use money in your dorm account. Indeed, the government is looking at how to keep that dollar in Nigeria as it fights the battle to protect Nigeria and Naira. The circular below… “This is to inform you that instant completion for international transfers on our digital platforms will cease from March 20, 2021. All international third-party transfers initiated on any of our digital channels will be completed at the back office after receipt of relevant supporting documents. Kindly ensure you send relevant supporting documents for your international transfers immediately transaction is initiated online to………. “Samples of supporting documents to be provided for international transfers to third parties are; Invoices Bills Demand Notes, etc “For Medical, insurance, school fees, subscriptions and other similar invisible payments. For transparency and in line with CBN eligibility requirement, purpose of payment must be clearly indicated for all

Please on domiciliary account do someone withdraw in naira or dollar?
@FloFinance
@FloFinance 3 жыл бұрын
A domiciliary (dom) account means a foreign currency account located in Nigeria. If you open a dollar dom account you will always operate it in dollars. You pay in dollars and withdraw dollars. The same goes for a pounds sterling dom account, same for a euro dom account. You pay in that currency and withdraw that currency.
