That's great for a hair dryer to work. You mentioned settings, could you explain further please? Mine has high and low.

I just replaced the battery in my 6S after watching your two videos. I think the key tip is to use the hair dryer to soften the adhesive before trying to pry up the screen. It wasn't budging before heating, but came apart easily after. Thanks a lot, Rick!

That’s a good idea

I used a hair dryer too but it wouldn’t open, so tried a very small flat screwdriver to prise open the screen, then used a plastic spudger to complete the job.

VERY IMPORTANT...when you first start getting a crack open, look for the thin white layer. You want to insert the spudger UNDER the white layer, because the white layer is part of the faceplate electronics. I pried between the white layer and the glass top, and destroyed the phone. Details count!

Can i apply suction cup over screen protector or I have to remove the screen protector first?
@Rickmakes2 жыл бұрын
You can try it. If the protector starts to come up, you should stop and remove it.

Hi Rick, I ordered the battery replacement but I do not have a heat gun. Will a blow dryer work? Anybody? I tried to pry the phone open with a suction cup but it's not budging. Thanks so much for your great videos.
@Rickmakes3 жыл бұрын
A blow dryer with a heat setting would work.

@@Rickmakes Great, thank you Rick. Without being on a high heat setting or low?
