I don't know. I've been looking at this one, but I can't find a mod specifically for this one. It looks similar to the t70a, but unless they used the same board, It'd be anyones guess. I actually want to do a video on this, but can't find the info...

@@JLPicard440 There's one single diode (it's a 2m only HT) just to the right of the LCD screen when apart that needs to be removed for full Tx.

Saw this vid several months ago and finally got to it after a "review" Made the same kinda tool you did but had to make two! The first one bent like a aluminum can and was made from a 2X2 inch shelf bracket, 2nd one was hard stainless steel and did the trick. They must install that nut with a 3/4" impact wrench? Buggered the nut up a bit, but still usable. Anyway, thanks for the great write up.

Yea, they put that nut on pretty tight. Unnecessarily tight. Don't try to get it loose with a flat head screwdriver, because it's not happening! Thanks for the comment.. :-)

Wondering because I have the same radio with the mod (I did not do it) and the weather alert option doesn't appear in the menu. No way to activate it. Not knowing the full history of the radio can't be sure the cause....

I tested my radio, and I didn't have any trouble getting the WX alert to turn on... just wanted to let you know... thanks.

That's good to know. I like the radio because it allows me to carry one radio when I'm with the Scout Troop and I can monitor it either the FRS radios that use or can play on the ham bands if I'm in the mood. But I also like to have the weather alert function when we're camping and such. Whatever reason it will not work on my radio but that could be any number of things I suppose and I do not know the history of the radio I bought it fairly inexpensively used.

Tried to look my ic-T70 from japan not an ic-T70A with an (alpha after the number70). I cant find the three diodes. Its already removed with the factory made. How can i modify this ic-T70 model?

Meu rádio Ht ICOM ic-v80e parou de receber mensagens só transmite, isso ocorreu depois que usei um microfone,nem quando ligo o rádio faz o barulho tradicional. O que fazer para resetar o som do rádio.
