I just moved into a house and we have an old M&S intercom for the doorbell. The old owner removed the master panel so I currently do not have a working doorbell. I bought a new outside doorbell button and put it in, the wire runs into the house and I am able to follow it. My question is that my wife does not want the intercom or music functionality and simply wants the doorbell to sound a chime. Can you tell me what parts I would need to buy to simply have a doorbell ring when someone pushes the button on the intercom that is on the front of my house?

Hi Joe: Without a Master Station installed - you simply have an incomplete and non-functional system. The Master Station is the heart of every system and it has the "chimes" built-in to it. To convert what you have - into a simple Chime, may be a simple project or it may be complicated - depending on the existing systems installation and your specific requirements and desires.
