How to operate a 1971-1974 John Deere 140H3

I recently acquired a 70 model that had been sitting under a lean-to for about 20 years. A basic mechanical restoration and new tires, battery and key switch, it fired up with no knocks, rattles, pil leaks. That 14hp flathead Kohler has a nice deep thump. I want to let you know that your video was very helpful to me especially since I know nothing about this 140 especially how to turn the PTO off....it's off now thanks. The forward, neutral, reverse lever will lunge forward on its own and will dang near throw me off the back. As soon as I get that addressed and fixed this old family hand me down will be pretty much dialed in. Thanks again for informative video and any suggestions on how to make the direction lever stay put without having to hold it by hand would be very much appreciated. I've been a motorcycle mechanic for 35 years and rebuild, restore and tune motorcycle and small engine carbs. In other words you tell me how to adjust/fix that lever I speak your language. Need a carb cleaned? I have an ultrasonic cleaner and a pike of jet cleaning tools.

@@nicklambertson4561 as much as I would I can’t. I’m from Ohio don’t know if it would be worth what I’d pay for gas. Might find someone else who watches this that lives in DE or closer that would be interested. What all do you have for it?

@@themaniacmower have two tillers brand new headlight and bezel with lights brand new seat new front tires and rear ags. New battery. It runs strong and fast for a 1974 haha. I have a 330,332 and 2-430's. I don't use the 140 and I could use room in my shed. I have pics I could send you of my unique small collection. Also,. I would pay for your hotel if you drive to DE. You won't be disappointed I promise.
