I'm so glad that Toyota brought in the Panoramic Glass Roof for the 2018 Toyota Camry. This Camry XSE model looks especially impressive with this option.
The operation of the Panoramic Glass Roof is a 2 stage process. The first is the moving sunshade. The second is the movable glass.
1. Press the sunshade button for a 1/2 second to completely open the sunshade. Short press (pop) the button in the other direction to stop the shade anywhere a long its path.
2. Press the roof button for a 1/2 second to completely open the panoramic glass roof. Short press (pop) the button to only tilt the back of the glass.
You can open the glass and the shade at the same time by just pressing the roof button for a 1/2 second. The sunshade and the roof will open completely.
To close the roof you can press the button for a 1/2 second. Press the shade button for a 1/2 second to close the shade.

It also has a tilt feature you didnt mention. If you press upward on the right hand switch, it tilts only, doesnt slide back

I have a 2019 camry xse and my panoramic moonroof gets jammed frequently and im currently having a problem with it just tilting up not sliding back all the way and is jammed right now where it wont fully open or close

Nikolai Harhai yes it’s safe. The roofline and reinforced pillars will protect you in a rollover. The glass roof is heavy and reinforced. It is similar to the windshield and windows with laminate.

Qing Li there is a roller operated by a motor that pulls the sunshade open and the shade has its own motors to close.
