Just converted 76000 avion points (55000 which was a welcome bonus) to 76000 asia miles which is a roundway economy ticket from Toronto to Hong Kong, which translated to a 2600$ value compared to around 1000$ value (at the higher end) if I redeemed them through rbc avion.
@郭沛然-g8b2 ай бұрын
That's exactly the best way to redeem Avion points. If you can save for 110k point, you can fly on CX Business between YYZ-HKG, even better point value.

How do you transfer Avion Premium to Avion Elite? Would you be able to get the Ion+ if you already have a higher tier Avion card?
@PrinceofTravel3 ай бұрын
You can still get the ION+ separately. You can Transfer the points from ION+ to AVION in the Avion award portal. You can find it once you log into your card account and click into the your Avion card account and you will find it there. ~Cris

Does the Avion Platinum card earn the same elite points as the Infinite cards?
@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
Yes it does. The main difference on the Platinum version is the lack of a multiplier on travel, and slightly reduced insurance benefits. The annual fee is the same, and so is the sign-up bonus. The Platinum version also does not have a minimum income requirement. - Steve

I'm still a little bit confused so how do we convert the RBC Avion to British Airways Avios?
@SteamScientistАй бұрын
Very interesting video. Do you know if, as a previous HSBC World Elite owner with a redemption ration of 100 = 1.5$, I get a Ion+ card with the goal of converting Avion Premium points to Avion Elite points, that would give me an effective redemption rate of 4.5% on Grocery, dining, etc.?
@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
it gives you 3 points per C$1 spend, and ION+ points can be transferred to AVION points if you also have an Avion Visa infinite card. And you can transfer the points to airlines. The HSBC 100=1.5 is not really relevant anymore. ~Chris
@SteamScientistАй бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Do you know if you have both an Ion+ and a Avion Infinite, when you covert Premium points into Elite points, do they all go in the same pool or in separate pools of points? I ask because I’m able to redeem my select points at a 100 : 1.5 ratio, being a previous HSBC client.
@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
The points accumulate on their respective cards, but can be pooled together on the Avion card and used in the manner you’re speaking of. - Steve

Hi Cris, I have got the RBC infinite leverage for a while now and I don’t see the benefit of the 399 (plus 99) for my spouse. I just called RBC and asked them about the points from the ION+ and they confirmed it is the same tire as the Avion points (no more premium vs elite). Can you confirm that? Also if yes, would not be best to go with the ION+ if I already have infinti with my business? Would appreciate your reapond.

how do u book longer layovers still paying 95k? do you have to call in, everything i can find via awards on qatar site is that 9-10 hour layover, and I really want to spend a few days in qatar
@mildse7en5973 ай бұрын
From my experience, you would have to book separate itineraries for that which costs extra points. I did a redemption from SEA to BKK, it will cost 120k total instead. Max layover is 24 hours, as that is the policy of DOH airport.
@jayzee3163 ай бұрын
@@mildse7en597 I see, thank you, cause booking separately, say montreal-doha, then to bkk, would be 70+60 or something like in points. layover makes more sense, but then like you said, 12-24 hours is the max time you get and that's not a lot to explore
@PrinceofTravel3 ай бұрын
If you want to explore just Doha, 23 hours are good enough, I just did that this year. I even had the time to walk through their World Expo and visited many Pavilions. You have time! The city isn't that big. ~Cris
@mildse7en5973 ай бұрын
When the booking is done under 2 separate itineraries, you are not bounded by the 24 hours max layover restriction for DOH; it only applies for flights booked under 1 itinerary - that is why QR will not let you choose your ongoing flight more than 24 hours out. I stayed 3 days in DOH during Ramadan 2024, and the amount of time was just right imo, but I agree you could see all the key tourist spots in DOH in one full day. Total points is 120k on 2 separate itineraries vs. 95k if under one booking for SEA-DOH-BKK

@@mildse7en597 I see, yeah thats what I got too, 70+50k points.

Great information! love your channel! Would like to know more on difference between RBC Avion Platinum vs RBC Avion Infinite. What would be the major difference other than the income requirement to get these cards?
@PrinceofTravel3 ай бұрын
The main difference would be 1.25x earning multiplier on travel purchases for the Visa Infinite (vs 1x on fhe Platinum). The other major differences would be in superior insurance coverage with the Visa Infinite as well. Annual fees and sign-up bonus are the same. - Steve

@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
You can transfer your points from RBC AVION to British Airways (BA) AVIOS, and you can then transfer your BA AVIOS to Qatar AVIOS. You will need to create a Qatar airways account also and link the 2 different AVIOS account together first. Make sure to have all your information from both accounts be an exact and identical to each other, otherwise the accounts won't link. ~Cris
