We poured concrete today to the lowest point in an irregular round pool. We were short by a lot. How would one calculate the yards for concrete to be poured in this case? My guess is that we would get the longest point for width, length, & depth right?

Awesome vid, how would one calc a footing for a retaining wall where we are talking inches mainly? For example a 20ft long wall 18in wide(toe and heel) and 12in deep??
@ColfaxMath3 жыл бұрын
All units have to be the same, I would convert the inches into feet. So 18 inches is 18/12 of a foot or 1.5 feet.

I was going to ask the same thing actually. Haha I’m looking to get the yards for a footing that had inches mainly. So thank you.

How do I estimate how many cubic yards of concrete I need for a swimming pool? I understand how to convert square feet to cubic yards but I am confused with the math behind the construction of a swimming pool. If someone could provide me with the formula. That would help me a lot. Another way I ask my question is as follows. For example, a pool is 45 feet in length, 15 feet in width and the concrete is 0.6 inches in depth. The pool’s shallow end is 4 feet, and the deep end gradually declines to 12 feet deep. (Ignore the steps and possible ledges in the pool, i got that figured out). Thank you to anyone that responds.

is it possible to mix/pour/order different grades of concrete if i need to pour a separate border/foundation around the whole perimeter, then the whole floor inside it, and some part of the inner floor even has to be thicker and higher grade than the rest of the floor in there? aka some parts need to take bigger loads later etc... and the outer perimeter probably gets some walls on top of it later etc...
@ColfaxMath3 жыл бұрын
I would think you can do multiple pours, if it is under different loads, should be engineered
